It is an 04 cougar with a yamaha 225. It just seems to be a lot of water for the small speedo hose. Could it be coming through the intake pump for livewells or the pipe leading to pump thru the transom

Speedo is not working correctly and really tried to watch the backwash when shutting down. There is several gallons of water, after about 30 min run the floor is wet and starting to puddle. Boat is new to me and this was the first weekend out fishing tourney. Wil have to check all the helpful comments next chance I get. Thanks to all

Had a similar problem on an older cat. Was told that the dark gooey stuff you are describing was a resin used in the hulls. Mine was a water issue seeping in around around the tie down u-bolts. Loosened them up siliconed good and retightened, never had the goo come out again. Not sure tho if it is corrosive or you might have another issue.

Wish we would have connected before last Friday as my nephew just drove out to fresno to play hockey for he season. I couldhave had him bring it out to ya. Let me know if you dont find one as someone may make a trip out to watch him

The one i am referring to is in SC and was the cover photo boat for bass cat in 2010… my concern is if it was wrecked does it void the lifetime hull?? Or does it depend on the extent of the damage
