    Thanks Mike!!!

They still have the Puma SP program and pricing. I know prices are going up so not sure what the price will be between the SP Puma vs Cougar?

I am assuming since the SP Pima price is still on the new website they are honoring that price and not added the price increase on top of the advertised price. You add sales tax and an additional 4% and you add another $8,000 to the total cost.

the unknown is do you order now during or right before price increases and supply issues or wait until demand slows and the parts shortage is over……..and will the prices drop when demand slows…….that the Million dollar question?.

Interesting info as I have my new Puma color design (Purple/Red/Silver) and build out completed for a 2022 model, was holding off due to all the stories I hear on getting Engines, Trolling motors, Electronics, Electronic mounts, etc. I did not want my new boat arriving at my dealer and then sitting for months waiting on equipment, looks like now I will be selecting a different model as the Puma FTD SP won’t be offered. I can only assume the new Premium boat to take over /  replace the Puma will be the next generation. Disappointed as I got my first Basscat Pantera ll in 1991, then 1994, 1996,  before switching over to The Puma. Have been running Puma FTD Dual console since 2005, 2008, 2012, 2015 to present. Been a Great model boat, it’s a gamble to discontinue a flag ship model boat that has proven itself year after year as a winning platform.
I will be excited ( I think) to see the new Models BCB thinks is the next Generation to replace the workhorse Puma FTD.

Well,  it is a problem. Supply chain for resin, parts, electronics, Motors, built in Battery chargers, etc……are a problem and will continue thru 2022. I am holding off on placing my new Puma order until all this settles down so I can get everything I want and not be disappointed because I could not get or have to wait a long time to get everything I want on my New Puma.
I have a friend who fishes MLF and other circuits and he was told to consider keeping his electronics on his 521 Ranger because they can’t guarantee he will get them for his new boat when the 2022 tournament season starts, he also said he was at Ranger for a meeting and they had 31 boats sitting there waiting on Gas tanks!

This building  boom in housing, Auto, and across all industries with lack of supply, raw materials, and inventory will be followed by huge surplus and a downturn in the economy, then we will have NO problems getting whatever we want, businesses will be pleading for customers with everyone having  huge supply of product, the competition will be fierce and competing for our business. Businesses are very concerned what is coming next after the supply chain catches up and demand for product drops off…. it’s coming!  The time is coming when Car dealers have cars & trucks for sale again with incentives to move them as they pile up on lots with slow demand, this will be the case across all businesses, it’s going to hit hard and it’s going to be ugly.

THE QUESTION IS WHEN? Either very late 2022 or 1sr Qtr 2023…….

I am in the chemical business, I sell Additives to the paint & coatings market. Surface tension modifiers, flow & leveling agent, defoamers & air release additives, etc. Epoxy resin is up 3 times the cost….if you can get it, PM Acetate is on allocation. We have ships full of product from Germany we can’t get unloaded, then their is a shortage of containers to put it on, shortage of trucks to deliver it and shortage of truck drivers. It is taking us 16-20 weeks to get product to our warehouses that before was 8 weeks, and it’s now 3 times the cost, it’s insane! But it will correct when things normalize, not going to be pretty. It will go from feast to famine……..or as I say….high demand and then NO demand…….I will keep using my 2015 Puma until I can order a new one without all the stress and inflated pricing. I have a cool color scheme of purple, silver and Red for my New Puma all drawn up, will order as soon as things normalize and products are readily available.

Maybe to extend the life of the bunk boards before wrapping in carpet apply a spray coating that is used for undercoating on vehicles or what’s used in the bed of pickup trucks, this might make these boards last for years. Would not be that expensive but would have a long lasting impact.

I am glad it’s not just me, I don’t see any post from people asking questions or looking for solutions.  It’s like all the Comments has disappeared.

one question based on an answer you gave the person requesting 2017 Cougar lift info…
when I order a new 2023 Puma STS should I add the Hydraulic Jack plate or stay with the factory installed Manual Jackplate??Dont want to add something I don’t need but dont want to have regrets either.

    thanks!

So if I am ordering a New 2023 Puma STS do you recommend NOT getting a Bob’s or Atlas Hydraulic Jack plate? That using the factory installed manual jackplate is all thats need for overall performance??

thanks for your recommendation and feedback!

When ordering a new 2023 Puma STS do I need a hydraulic jackplate or is the standard manual jackplate Basscat uses is all that’s needed.
do want to have regrets or buy something that’s not needed.

    thanks for your comment!
