I have a 2020 Yamaha sho flashed on my current 2009 puma fully loaded pole poles 112 ultrex two 12 inch graph on front Lovewell’s full 3/4 gas I am running 85 all day long with a gorilla hull

ain’t found a mercury that can run with me

Basscat if I changed to a 300R mercury would it be faster and how much faster in getting it into production.  I know you can only give a estimate.

Also speed and performance wise the 300R mercury compared to the new Yamaha SHO 250 with Nizzpro flash on a 2022 cougar with the regular hull not the 203

Basscat can I get my dealer to request which ever comes in first a mercury 300R or new Yamaha Sho?

Himmelrr I was meaning how the mercury 300r  in performance would compare to the Yamaha 250 Sho flashed since the 300r is Mercury’s version of the Yamaha 250 Sho flashed

the nizzpro flashed version of the 250 sho is 332 HP

the mercury 300R is supposed to be around 330 HP

 

i just wanted basscats opinion on how they would compare

but yes anyone with cougar with 300 mercury racing not the pro xs please share performance

Phil Addison you will be glad I made the switch today to mercury 300 racing on new boat.

Jackson at basscat told dealer it would be much faster getting then the Yamaha

my new question I know before anyone says it if you flash it voids warranty but I do know guys that have had issues and Yamaha covered flash engine

I also know one guy that blew the nizzpro super charger 450 Sho up and they covered

Dont know how but I know the guy personally and they fixed it

my question is Yamaha offers 5 year with 1 additional year you can buy ain’t really much money

all I see from mercury racing is 3 year warranty

is there more you can buy from them or is that all they offer

I was just hesitated going back to mercury had bad experience with the Optimax pro xs blowing power head and I did maintance quick clean and everything by the book never overheated them always warmed them up in cold weather so kind of gun shy.

plus I got a few buddy that have had the new mercury pro xs four strokes that have had issues

I know there great motors but all motors new have bugs.  The Sho first came out took them 3 or 4 years to work out bugs now they are kind of problem free

Thanks basscat on that do I buy that straight thru the dealer to mercury or is that something that we buy thru y’all with boat purchase
