    thank you for the reply I have a 23 off a 87 150 Im going to try today to see if it helps. what way would you go with the jack plate? He has been going down with it. I love the boat its like new with tons of storage and what a smooth ride. I clocked it with gps at 75 even fastest Ive ever been on the water.

    I just checked the app that I used to clock the boat and you are right it is off 20 miles an hour. I went over and ran a compression test on it and it has 96 pounds of compression per cylinder. the prop is 24 by 48 the motor is a rx6 150. Naccat your right on the prop way to big. Thanks everyone for the advice as much as I like the boat Im thinking Im going to pass on this boat. dont want to spend the money only to have to spend more on a rebuild next year.Last edited by Snycat on June 21st, 2011, 1:37 am, edited 2 times in total.

    Does anyone have a manual That says what the compression is sposed to be on these motors. Because I talk to a machine shop that rebuilds outboard motors and they say that the compression is fine. Im having a hard time walking away from the boat .
