I dont know a ton about this stuff, but isnt 95 pounds on one cylinder kinda low? I had a 200 merc from 1989 on my p2 and compression on #5 was low from chrome plating that was used to line the cylinder walls flaking off and creating blow-by. It took me FOREVER to get out of the hole. It idled awfull aswell.

WooHOO! Both of mine have come from there, last one in 96. Its great to hear this. Now I can go check out all the stuff I cant afford.

Thanks for the posts everyone. I live in Michigan so hilly country isnt plentiful but Im really leaning toward staying with the V8s, and hopefully one day I will escape this winter wonderland and move to a place where I can fish more than 7 months of the year. Good fishing everyone!

Checked it out. Kinda… hard to look at.

The reed is possible, I will have to have it checked out this week. I used the plugs all last year and it ran good then so I believe this just happened.

Well, all checks out ok. Im kinda baffled now. The only think I can think of now is the spark plug itself was faulty. I had one go bad in my car and did something similar. Anyway, Im gonna run it more and keep an eye on it for a while. Thank you for the responses!
