Ifishdad- I bought a P4 in June and absolutely love the boat. I have a 200 Hpdi w/ a 25m prop and consistently run 70-71 by myself and 67-68 with partner and tournament load. As BCB stated it is very easy to drive, and probably its best feature is its ability to handle rough water. The P4 is definitely the best 19 boat in rough water that I have ever been in. Try one, you wont be dissapointed. Boog
Greenhornet- Yes they will fit in the battery trays. I bought one about 6 months ago to use as a cranking battery for my P4 and it has worked great. Last week I bought 2 more for trolling batteries, so it is to early to tell how well they will do in that capacity, but I know they will fit. Travis
Mine did the same thing about two weeks ago also. I have not made time to look into it, as the trim works fine and I dont use the gauge much, but I would like to correct the problem. Good question and glad you asked!
BCB– Thanks for the quick response. Yall are awesome!
Flyswatter– It is a VERY simple install. I bought the stainless cupholder at Academy for $7.00 & they also had a black plastic one for $2.00. I used a dremel 561 multipurpose hi speed cutting bit to cut a 3 3/4″ circle, dabbed a little 2 part marine epoxy around the edges of the cut and slid the cupholder in. The red line in the pic indicates the brace that BCB referenced. Hope this helps, Travis
Im glad it helped some of you! I understand that false modesty is the worst form of bragging, but this really is an extremely simple project that anyone with a dremel tool can accomplish in about 15 mins! Thanks for the compliments & thanks for the help I have received from yall in the past. Travis
cajun catter– Did you use the steering wheel trim switch on the bow? If so is there a way to split it to space the up/down switches apart? Thanks, Travis
CC– I really appreciate your help. A photo of how you ran the wire w/ rubber grommet etc. would be great if its not to much trouble. Im probably not going to use that switch, however I would like to see how you wound up doing yours. Thanks Again! Travis
basjax– I have ordered the remote and plan on using it until I drop it in the lake! I believe I will use the remote quite a bit, but I also would like to have the ability to be hands free and step on a switch while casting, fighting a fish, etc. I decided to use the trim switches that BCB uses on the front of our boats. I have them spaced comfortably for big feet, and if BCB uses them Im confident they are quite durable. Ive got them mounted on a plate so if I do need to move the two switches it should be quite easy. Also, they were substantially cheaper than the steering wheel trim switch sold by power pole! Thanks, Travis
Sears does not “build” the Platinum batteries, Odyssey does! I have had three 31 Platinums for about a year and have had zero problems.
Flyswatter– Inner plate on slidemaster is about 1/4″ above outer & that is where I had it with my old prop. Im not going to mess w/ the jackplate at all with the new fury b/c I think its close to perfect. Steering @ WOT is great, just a lil bit of torque. Water pressure is over 20 lbs and rpms are where they need to be. I didnt take a measurement relative to pad.
Another vote for Humminbird. I have both on my boat. The HBird is much easier to operate and more user friendly. Also b/w the two you mentioned, the 997 with SI will be cheaper than the HDS 8 with StructureScan!Travis
Good stuff! The Coolfoot sticks tightly, and doesnt chip or tear like I was afraid it might. As StanH said, they work great in the rain and theyre also handy when its hot if you fish barefoot.
