    Well, my reasoning was two fold. I crappie fish mostly and would rather sit a little further back, and the existing base has broke (under deck) in weld area. One way or another I will have to install a new base plate, just figured Id ask first. Dont know how the original base was broke, previous owner pointed it out to me. Suppose Ill be calling for a replacement, do you know the part number? Thanks for the help.

    I just crappie fish these local lakes and boat goes faster than I need. Seems to hit 50 pretty easy with room to spare. Dont know what top end is, I dont go there. Compression test was reported as good at last servicing.
