Thanks guys for the input, it was just what I needed. We did not need to hammer in at all just a few little taps here and there with a composite drop fall. I had my wife pull and twist rope ahead of me as I pushed rope in. Worked like a charm and only took about an hour, thanks again for all the advice.

I got ya, misunderstood what you was saying. The shocks are fully extended and lids open more than enough to gain access, however, they do not open quite as far as they can and that is what got me to thinking longer shocks to relieve pressure on the bracket. I have a bad habit of over analysing, will fill holes with resin and reseat screws. Thanks for your help.

A used one would be fine as long as its not banged up or warped. How much for 1 rim and where are you located, thanks

Ben, I ended up mounting mine over the bilge area. I cut a piece of scrap aluminum roughly 12″x23″ and formed a bracket that would set up off the bilge area with a 1″ flange on each side mounted under the battery trays using the same screws holding the trays in place. I than bolted the charger on the top of the brackett. I can still access the bilge area and pumps if needed. Please see pics. Kenny
