I had same problem with 1995 Johnson Faststrike. My motor was also hard to start. I replaced the VRO pump. This fixed my problem.

Not many places on lake to stay; maybe VRBO in area, Rogers, Bentonville, Springdale hotels. Prairie Creek and Horseshoe campsites are close, Tanglewood and Coppermine are less than 10 minutes by boat.
