Im running HDS gen 1 units on it right now (What it came with). Im not sure if that is compatible… Plus, the Sony unit puts down some really clean high power signal – bridgeable to something like 65 watts to two channels (Left and Right 6×9 in my case). My installer didnt think that the power draw would be any worse than one of my Lowrance units – I specifically asked if we should run a second, smaller battery for it. I just put in a mack daddy starter battery with a 3 year unconditional warranty, so Im not sweating it.

Yeah, I saw the Scott Martin vid. Im not putting in anything remotely as exciting as what his sponsors put in his rig!

Well, those infinity 6x9s did fit in the gunnels of my 2011 BassCat Puma… Even better, they sound fantastic with that headunit! texlacat, I tried the Bluetooth speaker thing, but it is a PITA, and I dont think the fish hear it near as well as the higher dollar setup… ;^)

texlacat, It sounds kinda mind blowing actually. Im pretty sure you could put mediocre speakers into the gunnels of most boats and it would sound good – I.e. the cavity achieves good resonance like a quality speaker box. Ran it back to the installer this morning to change the power lead from the ignition circuit to the console power switch panel as I dont normally leave the ignition in the on position when I stop at a spot to fish. Both the installer and the sales lead/manager were out there chatting with me while the installer re-wired the main power lead… Both commented on how good that setup sounded. Since they are located in a sort of light industrial area, we got a chance to crank it to 11 (No neighbors around to annoy). Sounds phenomenal for what little money I put into it…Hell, I think the installation cost more than the components, but it was definitely worth it. The installation tech said it took him 20 minutes per hole – cutting the speaker holes out on each side. The fiberglass cutouts were surprisingly thick! Almost 2 inches of material with some sort of resin in between (Rubbery material). BCB doesnt skimp on the hull layup thats for sure!

http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php … ost8258093I put a really nice 6×9″ setup in my Puma. Fitment (Mounting depth) turned out to be a null issue for the speakers I used (Infinity Marine), and the speakers work great! I use them every trip!
