A 2.5 inch ball mount like the RAM-D-111U-C can support upto 15lbs. If you need more than that we have an E Series Ball that is 3.38″ and can support 20lbs. Second we offer a lifetime warranty on our parts so if 1.5″ ball you have is damaged you can submit a warranty claim, just follow the steps there and we can get you a replacement. And as far as the Ram Ball being rubber, yes it is and there is a reason, it provides a better mounting than harder materials. You can see this demonstrated in one of our comparison tests videos. If you can provide more details on the type of device you would like to mount I can point you to a specific mounting solution that should work for you.Ram Mount ][email protected]1-206-763-8361 / 1-800-497-74798410 Dallas Ave South Seattle, WA 98108Last edited by rammount on May 23rd, 2012, 3:43 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I am a pretty strong guy and even when I tighten the mount as much as I can the mount will still slip when I run in rough waves. Any suggestions to eliminate this? @txpuma, we offer the RAM ENLARGED HANDLE-WRENCH Product Number: RAM-KNOB9HU that will allow you to get more leverage on the tightening handle and should solve your problem. If you still have trouble with it snap a few photos of your setup, including the surface of the ball and email them to us so we can try and determine why it is slipping.Ram Mount ][email protected]1-206-763-8361 / 1-800-497-74798410 Dallas Ave South Seattle, WA 98108
