I was thinking of trying a Corbin Clamp, looks like it would be easy to install in the tight spot and hold well.As far as the 08 ride. Never rode in an 07 but the 08 rides like a dream. Been in and have driven most brands of boats none ride better. There arent a lot of BassCats in this area and everyone is checking it out. I think there will be some more in the near future.

Couldnt tell you I havent played with the setup at all. I dont even know what height my engine is set at right now. I havent measured it. When I have some more time on the lake I will play with setup. Hoping to get a little more by raising the engine a bit. I am running 20 plus pounds of water pressure so know problems there. Will post when I get some more numbers.

The event is awesome. I have fished it the last couple of years and really enjoyed it. It has been great having guys like Marty and Gerald come in for the event. This whole thing started with a couple of local guys wanting to say thanks Hal Abshire, Bob Cunningham and Greg Lahr. These guys have done an awesome job of getting this event started. It has now grown in to a really professional tournament thanks to the dream of these guys and the hardwork of their team. If you get a chance to come, you will enjoy yourself for sure.

This is my fifth bassboat and I am well aware of how to use latches without breaking them. I have never broke one before. I have three broken latches on my 08 Puma right now. My buddy just had 2 latches replaced on his 07 Puma under warranty. I am aware that the latches are under warranty. I am not questioning the integrity of Basscat or the quality of the boat. I am however questioning the quality of the latches. I will probably invest in the new latches but it would be a nice gesture to be able to pay the difference from the old latches to the new. Being a business owner myself I understand the importance of doing the right thing. The quality of the latches does not match the quality of a BassCat. I commend you guys for upgrading to better latches on your new models. However I dont think that those of us who purchased earlier models should have to pay full price to replace substandard parts. The shaft (or cam as you call it) is made of weak pot metal and I can easily break it with my bare hands. To make this clear it is not the handle that is breaking it is the shaft that turns the locking mechanism. I have been extremely pleased with my boat with the exception of the latches.
