Anything that sounds too good to be true usually is. The only 99 Jag I saw on that website was $18,000.

The new striping looks wicked! That bad boy is truly a huge boat and I believe the bar has been raised…AGAIN!!!! That redesigned console is gonna take some getting used to though. Jason

Phil…Red/White/Black is the best and will always be the best looking colors on a boat. Bar none…I agree with something you said earlier. This may be one of the best looking boats I have seen color wise. You are a brave man to get white seats.-Jason

You will definately enjoy that PIII. Those old carb powered OMC engines are described by many folks as being darn near bulletproof. I had a 200 Venom on a boat and can tell you that I treated that boat very rough. The only repair I ever made to it was a new lower unit and I have a stump on Sam Rayburn to thank for that. There was more than 1000 hrs on that engine when I sold the boat. Never a problem but then again I am a maintenance freak so I am sure that had something to do with it. That price sounds pretty reasonable to me too. I sold my 96 PII in mint condition with a 175 Mariner on it for almost $11,000. I would jump on that price.I also agree with Shap. There is no way I would purchase any boat/motor that age without having it checked by a mechanic YOU trust. Certainly nothing wrong with a boat that old (It is a Cat so age makes no difference in the boats dependibility). If the guy is honest he should not have anything to hide and should gladly allow a mechanic to go over it. If for nothing else to check the compression.Good luck.-Jason

LSU may not make it as a top ten team but I sure hope my beloved Houston Cougars move up a few notches. I think these guys may be the real deal boys. They beat Texas Tech last night at the end of a game they should not have won. They also beat OSU two weeks ago. Tech beat on em pretty good until there was less than one minute left but it does not matter what happens throughout the game. When the gun sounded and the smoke cleared they got em. Hopefully the Texans and the Cougars make it happen this year. Texans-Playoffs or bring on Mike Holmgren…Cougars-BCS or bust. Its about time us long suffering Houston fans get some winning teams that dont play basketball.-Jason

Im with PA on the mechanic part. My dealer is a Yamaha and Rude dealer but they are also world class race boat drivers and they run Mercs on their race boats. Go figure. I have owned both and liked my Merc as well as my Rude. If I was purchasing right now I would go with either a Merc or the Yamaha. The Yamaha simply becuase my dealer is a fantastic faamily owned business and I would want to keep my business with them. I would have some concerns with Evinrude simply from a company standpoint. They have stuggled as a company in the past and given todays financial climate I would want someone that will be there in the end. Not saying they wont but I think Mercury and Yamaha are better from this vantage point. If you choose the Evinrude as it seems like you are leaning towards, I would bet the farm that you will be pleased with the performance. If you need a second opinion on that I almost guarantee that Brannon will weigh in on this and everyone on this board knows his position when it comes to engines.-Jason

Thanks Brannon. I have thought about that and I think you may be the color Guru on here. I want something Bad A** looking and I want to get something unique and not readily seen. I always thought my yellow/malibu red/red Cat was unique and I have yet to see another like it ever. Phil is the only other person that I have ever seen that can put together a yellow boat that is beautiful. I want to color one so that everyone twists their neck out of joint to get a second look.-Jason

I appreciate all of the responses. The Blue/Black and Malibu Blue is just a thought by me. Being from Texas I also am partial to a primarily white boat. The Malibu red on my last Cat looked brand new when I sold it. I never saw a scratch on it but that was me and the previous owners meticulous care of this boat. I have other ideas in mind also for colors as I also think Charcoal and Coral look cool. Im not worried about resale becasue I will have the boat for many years. I am gonna call you one day this week Brannon and tell you my thoughts on a few color combos that I have in mind. I really do appreciate all of the advice. I cant afford a $40,000+ mistake so much thought will be put in this.

Tideman…just remember this. Bear Bryant once said that “If you wanna walk the streets of gold you gotta know the password…Roll Tide Roll!” The Tide will be OK.-Jason

Unbelievable. I have seen people do things at tournaments unintentionally and get disqualified. Hey folks make mistakes. I disqualified once because we left too early. It was a shotgun start and I guess my watch was a little fast. I lost an 18lbs+ sack that day but I took my medicine and released my fish. This yoyo should have his license suspended and his TX #s revoked off of his boat. I assure you that he will face criminal charges by the Game Wardens. He deserves all of the bad press and grief that he can get.-Jason

This is such as sad event. No words can describe what the folks of Fort Hood are feeling right now. To all of the dead and wounded whether military or civilians my heart goes out to all. It should also be noted that this maniacs killing spree was stopped by a female civilian police officer who by the way is recieving high praise from the commanders at Ft Hood. She also took a bullet in an exchange of gunfire with a trained soldier. She ran towards what most people ran from and she put her life on the line. She engaged this maniac and stared death in the face and she prevailed. After she was shot she was able to return fire and end this violent event with four rounds striking the bad guy. She is a hero in my opinion and I am proud of her.-Jason

Contact Sport Marine in Richmond Texas. These guys are not a BCB dealer but they are a Evinrude dealer and they keep good lower units in stock for larger Rude engines. I personally know what fine honest and upstanding people they are and I know they would be happy to ship a lower unit anywhere. Give em a call at 281-238-0060. Ask for Bob, Michael or John Schubert. They are the owners and stand by their sales.-Jason

Youngblood…I believe he has to wrap it per BASS rules. That is the most beautiful Jag I have seen yet. In fact those colors would be sick on any of the BCB line of rigs. SMBASS…Aint much purtier than a Corvette but this boat sure gives one a run for its money.

That story kinda hits me right in the gut. The words of the writer say it all. I was never in the military. It is a regret that I will live with for the rest of my life. I do have family and friends in the service and each of them will always be a hero to me. You guys reading this that are serving our country, many many thanks.-Jason
