TXUex, Look at whether or not the marker lights by using the flashers by plugging the Green wire pin into the Brown from the trailer. Then look at the harness itself. It is odd to loose both sides as separate wires feed those. BCB

There are fuses in your truck that are in line with the trailering harness. Check under your hood for the fuse panel and there are fuses in there for the trailer wiring harness. Brian Hash

its not the truck as I have power at the plug. The first thing I checked when I didnt have lights was to see if I had power. Something has blown every light bulb on the boat except the brake lights. I am considering going to LED since I am going to have to replace everything. Johnny

We have never seen 12 volts take out all of the lights. You should check one of the lights individually with power, if you determine, and we think you will, that the wiring is the issue, start tracing it from the plug. If you have a pivot tongue, then definitely check the wiring in the pivot tongue. Perhaps someone used the pivot tongue without your knowledge and pinched a wire in the tube. BCB

well after BCB suggested I look swing away tongue there it was. Someone had made a repair where the tongue had pinched the wire before. Well they used connectors that were for #10 wire and 2 of the wires were pulled out because the connectors were so big they couldnt clamp down on the wire. I put it all back together with the right connectors and the Govs old trailer has lights again. Thanks to this forum for the help. Johnny

I have 2001 Cougar. Time to upgrade lights. Which LED clearance lights will replace the original clearance lights?

Trace the White wire and it would be the ground, it connects to the tongue underneath, and the one on your vehicle is sometimes not connected. BCB

Checked the ground, connected to the botom of the brake actuator(?) and intact. Plugged up to the truck and everything worked. Go figure. Cold weather/water have any effect? Dont know, just glad to see the light……. Thanks for the responses, Brad

You cant replace the bulbs…you have to get a whole new unit for the tail/stop light. The same for your marker light too.
