You have to push the little tab on the right out just enough so that the cartridge will turn about a 1/8 to the left. Then you can pull it straight up. Then try turning it on and see if the impeller spins, if it does not you can order a replacement from Bass Cat.
With a multimeter check to see if you are getting 12 volts at the pump when you push that switch. You can usually work the probes of the multimeter under the butt splices without cutting your wires. If you have voltage to the pump, the cartridge is bad. You can replace the cartridge without replacing the whole pump.
The output may require a pump to operate and a voltmeter may get no reading due to protection. Try flipping a pump from another housing and rotate them to see if the aeration works.
Ok Ive got the yellow bilge pumps and Im trying to take the pump out of the housing and it wont come out. I see where it says counterclockwise is unlock but I turn it maybe 1/4 ” and it stops and wont budge. Any tips?
Needs to move more than 1/4″, more like 1/4 turn as I remember. You may need to fashion a tool to help you rotate the cartridge. Keep a spare in your boat, youll be doing this every year or so. Good luck.
There is a little black tab that locks the cartridge in. Lift the tab and the cartridge should turn out. Make sure you put the locking tab back when you reinstall. Mike
