The aluminum trays in my 2002 hold Group 31 batteries. I have Deka AGMs. Viewing the tray image, it appears to have a removable spacer that would snug up a smaller battery.
I just bought 2 new optima d31ms at Amazon.com for $201.65 a piece with free shipping.
Oh yeah, my boat is a 99 Cougar with a 225 Opti.
Depends on your battery tray size.I had the alum trays and I could fit 29s with no problemRon
mine came in my boat, I think they are 12 ” and will hole a 27.
