What are the specs on the new Cooper Tires that BCB is using. What is the “name” of the tire. Just looking at replacing my whole set. My six year old tires have plenty of tread, but are really showing some cracking and signs of age. The boat has been stored outside under a cover most of the time. Thanks. idk about the coopers being discontinued. i know they did replace the atrs with the at3. my dad has always had the cobras on his sabre nd they have been good as long as you keep the pressure right and dont let it run on the sidewall.the kenda kenetica has a similar tread pattern to the cobra. set of 4 is around $250there really isnt a whole lot of selection for that size but a trailer tire wouldnt wear out near as fast but its all up to you

bcb has reasons for putting passenger tires on the trailers but i will let them comment on those. i have seen the wear on my bcb trailer tires compared to “trailer” tires and can say that the tires bcb uses have never shown any abnormal wear and hold up very well as opposed to what i have seen on “trailer” tires.

JRK55, You can do as you please, though the success of passenger car tires we have used since 1985 or so is without question. We went to radial tires (General) in the mid 70s and never looked back. Through all the Firestone CLMs, Goodyear Marathons, Carlisle Trailers, Maxxis and other brands of trailer tires that we have seen issues with we have had very few tire problems. Recently we have seen a few bad beads on the most recent production run of Coopers, though these never make more than about 100 miles max and leak down. It has been a very minimum number of tires, and most were on one trailer. Made tracking the issue simple. Even with our less favorable results on Goodyear Eagles and one of the Firestone models, the problems with lower sales of trailer tires we offered were more.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on March 15th, 2011, 4:31 am, edited 1 time in total.

the only problem i have ever had with tires is just getting old and dry rotting then coming apart. i am a person who firmly dislikes firestone tires. had 4 of them blow out on my camper. went to coopers an not had a problem.

BCBI am not in favor of trailer tires, I have not had any problems with either the Firestones or the Coopers. Since the Cooper Cobra GTs are now discontinued what are you using or what will you be using on the new boats from the factory?JRK

We use Cooper Cobra GT Passenger tire in size 215/75R-15. This is the raised white letter tire.The black wall tire is a Triangle Trailer tire, model TR643, size ST205/75-R15.Hope this helps,BCB Admin

what is the recommended psi to run with cooper tires? 32 or max psi which is 41?

Run max manufacturers recommended PSI as stated on the sidewall.

Since your on the thread about the Cooper tires out here in C.A. the good old CH.P. has been pulling over trailers for some minor issue ( light out etc. )and if the trailer does not have the recomended trailer tires they give out a ticket. Not sure if it matters what the company put on or not. Are the bass cats out in to C.A. coming with Coopers or something else. I would like to replace mine this winter but it would help me with my choice. Thanks. Brian Chance. Pantera 3

I ran the Cooper Cobra tires on my S-10 pickup for many years with no unusual problems.
