Ditto. Run Coopers or have them run them on truck, trailer, and the wifes Subaru. Different runs/styles but they have held up. Didnt last as long as my Goodyears (on the truck) but they also are about $100 less per tire.
Cooper is aware of this issue and there are a couple of more. They will warranty the tire with no questions. If you need more help have them contact Bobby Copeland who handles that in the factory. BCB
Yeah, my cooper tire ripped and burst when my partner hit a curb. Is this a warranty issue? just kidding.I was very surprised how reasonable the cooper tire and wheel for a Bass cat werebritt
Cooper tires have seen a very significant OEM cost increase in 2011, one of the highest inflation items for BCB.
smbass – These Goodyears are the first Ive had on one of my trucks (08 Sierra Z71). Usually I get about two years 25-26K over the many years Ive owned 4WD trucks. Im approaching 3 years 36K with the current Wranglers. Will need to replace before winter (if I dont trade it in) but see no reason they wont be fine until then. I rotate etc. and am religious about tire pressure but I was with my Coopers and Firestone/Bridgestones too. The latter usually come on the GMCs. I dont 4 wheel through the woods cause tread wouldnt allow for it now but they are fine for ramps using 4wd. They arent good in the clay but what tire you can use on the road is, new or old. Usually when I replace tires for car or truck we use a local shop who specializes in Cooper. Great fast service and local family owned.
Thanks to everyone for your input. At least I have some guidance should there be any future concerns.
Well guys, during a trip to Texas last week to fish on Lake Fork and Lake O the Pines in lieu of the OI, I experienced a major Cooper Cobra blow out on I-40 between Memphis and Little Rock. When I did get to the Cooper Service Center in Texarkana, Ark I was very surprised at their actions towards the Coopers on my BCB. First of all, they stated that the Cobra is not a trailer tire and that on single axle trailer there should at least be a 6 ply trailer service tire. They would not warrant the tire even though it had a generous amount of tread. They said the tire was also old based upon the production date on the tire. Even though my rig is less than two years old, the tire was over three years old; closer to four years. Now, they did say that the tire did not fail due to the age, but could have failed for several reasons that were not detectable due to the shredding of the tire. Of course, I also ruined a wheel as the loose tire tread tread wrapped around the hub locking up the wheel and before I could get from the left lane to the right shoulder and stopped from highway speeds it drug the edges off the wheel. Luckily I did have a matching spare and wheel but am replacing the two remaining tires today. The manager of the Cooper Service Center is also a Bass Cat owner and said that he was very disappointed that BCB was using that particular Cooper tire for their trailers. Just wanted to pass this along to the gang.
There are several replacements out there, though that Cooper is not in inventory anywhere right now. We have none either. We are using either a Stinger (Cooper private label) or BF Goodrich on upscale tires now.
THIS IS A SUGGESTION I LEARNED FROM A TIRE DEALER….USE YOUR SPARE FOR THE BAD TIRE, AND HAVE A TUBE PUT IN THE BAD TIRE AS YOUR SPARE UNTIL YOU FIND WHAT YOU NEED….. YOULL BE SURPRISED HOW WELL THAT WORKS……
Thank you, didt think about a tube for the time being, hated to see that screw in the sidewall, but it happens. My rig is only 6 months old,ya hate to be buying tires already.
I would in addition to the tube put a tire patch on the inside of the tire wall to reinforce that area so that the inner tube doesnt try to bulge through that hole. will probably last foreverIrv

Yes you can boot it on the inside and run a tube, using it for either a spare or a full tire. BCB
I just picked one up laqst month. Heres the link.http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com … 5&pID=2265basscat24
Took it to Les Schwab tire center, they told me because of where the screw went in they could not patch it.it was basically in the back side wall. They had a used Goodyear Marathon that has 80 percent tread and is in really good conditionMounted for $20.00,cant go wrong for that price. At least now I have a spare until I can find the Cooper.I will try that website. Thanks for the info.
