Im all for innovation and and this motor has a ton of it. I guess it comes down to will the motor hold up. When folks start running it we should know soon enough. If it does then they got a hell of a winner IMHO. It appears the dash screen is pretty big so that would replace the Lowrance or HB unit? I think the ability to switch from foot control to hand control is cool as hell and the auto trim is a neat feature too but Id like to know more about how it knows how to trim out/in. As far as looks, took a period of adjustment but it has definitely grown on me. Looks wouldnt deter me and Im kind of old. The looks of it from inside the boat looking back is actually pretty cool. Not sure Id want to be the Guinna pig to be an early owner but if it becomes a strong reliable product I think the whole industry is going to take a step up which surly is a good thing. Should be fun to watch.

BRP has 5″ LCD screen and a smaller Merc Monitor size square button operated LCD to place elsewhere on the console.

Just dont see where all this will make my fishing day more productive or enjoyable. Power steering , fly by wire controls, alternate controls, etc,, all just add up to more malfunctions in my book, but I admit Im old school and do not like changes or surprises except at Christmas ! I hope BRP gets it right and converts all us Merc fanatics ! Lol But until any of yall get more experience with BRP than Ward I would observe more and boast less.
