thanx to everyone for the help. normally i can do pretty well with a good contour map but not being able to get one for down there left me kinda blind as to a starting point. if anyone ever comes up to guntersville, wheeler, wilson or pickwick give me a shout will be glad to help if i can. sonny

Sam do you have any good ideas on the fishing on the Red River around Natchitoches La.-Just wondering never been there thought I might drive by there one day and try fishing there-thanks John

Last time I fished there, last year at GAF, me and Joey found fish in the river using live shiners, thats all they wanted, but fishing is fishing. Lots of fun. Fish in every cut. SAMBAYOU BANDIT

sam thanks for the information on the river-I thought about calling lad to see if he knowns anything about the river they say sometimes it is a good fishing place-john

John, didnt mean to pull your leg. The real truth is: SCROLL DOWN The shiners had to be facing to the outside of the bucket, they had to be 3″- we had to throw back 50 that were 21/2″ And the real kicker was: You had to add GARLIC to the water!!!! P. Whitehurst sounds familiar- I left Va, in 77 , considered Buggs as my home lake as well as Smith Mtn., also Philpott- fished Gaston quite a few times- my best stringer at Buggs was 8 fish- 32.5 lbs in July all on carolina rig w/9″ worms. In April 1975 Ray Scott offered me the first Natl Fed. directors job- had a good job and turned him down- gave job to Bob Barker my St. Fed Secy. A lot of water has passed under my bridge since then, but I never regretted turning down that BASS job. Ive fished Smith Mountain once in a Mr. Bass tourn. Buggs is one of my favorites. Love to throw the rig there Also spinnerbugs on windy points. Roger was our state Pres. for a couple of decades. He was also on the board of the original TBF before the split. Sounds like you could teach me a thing or 2. Wish I could make the OI this year, would love to meet you and all the other guys down there. Just got back from the Richmond show. Talked to John Crews what an awesome guy. Bob was the right one, he understood political neccessities when needed., He told me many times that I had made the right decision not going with BASS.BAYOU BANDIT
