I don’t call being kind and humble when requesting help as kissing rear. It’s just being respectful and treating others the way you want to be treated.
Got a question did you disclose perceived problems with the boat to the person you sold it to???
Matt79- I’m guessing that based on his previous comments and his high regard for communication and integrity that he would have to disclose it? Right? 😉
Dude, this has been going on since April. I was humble, nice, easy to get along with. How long would you keep your cool. Most probably would have not have put up with it as long as I did. Me and my dealer set up a time for me to take it back to the factory. That’s a nine hour drive from my house. It was dismissed as the problem was I had 2 graphs on the front. 2 helix graphs was my problem. Like I’m the only one running that set up. It like they gave me ever excuse in the world. Graphs, how I had it loaded, prop, motor height, I just didn’t know how to drive it and finally the motor. They spent 30 min on the boat. So I took it back to my dealer because Rick said it needed to go there first. Even though it had already been there. That is when my dealer spent an entire 8 hour day ruling out everything except the hull it’s self. That was the only thing left. After all that was presented to Rick he sent me the email that is posted above. This was June. He said he couldn’t look at it til Aug. that didnt set well with me. I wrote him an email back, also posted above explaining I felt that was not fair. He replied with an email that said “Do what you have to do”. Who tells someone that, that just spend over 80,000 on your product. I felt like the only way to get the issues resolved was to back peddle. So I apologize for my email and told him I’d wait til Aug. also in the emails above. He told me his team would be in touch. So after waiting 90 days I sold the boat and thought I share my story here. I am certain if I would not have posted on here I would have never heard from Mr. Pierce again. In one of his reply’s to me on this post he mentioned he just dealt with a similar issue. I just have to wonder how long that guy had been waiting.
Of course I told them why I was selling it. That is the first question someone asks when calling on a boat with 20 hours on it. I took a huge loss on it because of that. I reported the top speeds just as they were. The young man took it out and ran it. He’d never had a Basscat before and he loved it. He thought 70 was flying. He got a great deal on it. It’s got full warranty on it. 5 month old boat for nearly 20,000 off new. Hell of a deal for him.
Unfortunately we still don’t know the source of the problem. It may be something totally different than the boat and we do not know that. The boat ran, it operated and it fished, now it fishes under someone else.
This was a matter pf patience and cooperation. We asked for that and while you feel you were let down, so do we when it went up for sale almost immediately after the conversations.
This is an unfortunate situation that was not in our control.
It was within your control had you not placed it for sale as asked.
Roll on…
So, lets see here. You are choosing to dump your problem on some unsuspecting used boat buyer rather than get it sorted out. How very nice of your. I read ever single post.
Learn2Drive a cat. Learn2load a cat.
It was a 100% within your control. You just failed to control it. So that’s all to be expected out of your product? The motor will run, it will operate and you can fish out of it. That doesn’t sound like a very high bar. What happened to total performance. Rick, be honest I told you in our phone conversation I was going to list the boat for sale. Its even in the emails, along with my reason for doing so. Do not use that as the reason for not getting back with me. That is false. You either forgot which is understandable or you just didn’t care and had no intentions of following up. By the way your making excuses I’d say the latter is true. If you simply forgot why not just say so. A simple apology would have taken care of everything. Let me give you an example.
Casey, I apologize for mot getting back to you on the issue your having with your boat. I’ve noticed you listed it for sale. However if you have mot sold it and would like us to look at it we will try to get it worked in as soon as we can. I still don’t have a 250 pro xp on hand. We value you as a customer and want to get this handle as soon as possible. Thank you for bearing with us.
That’s all I wanted. That simple response would have set my mind at ease. Simple as that. Maybe I set my expectations are to high, for you and your product. Instead you continue to make it sound like it’s my fault. I will continue to share my story. I know I’m not the only one that has been treated this way. I have been messaged by others. Then you end with the insult of saying “roll on…”. Meaning screw off. Rick in my opinion that does not exhibit “building boats to the glory of God”. This is just not how you treat people.
So it’s ok for Basscat to dump their junk off on me but after they refuse to address the issue I’m then stuck with the boat forever? You guys are crazy. He drove my boat, liked my boat and didn’t care about running fast. That is a hell of a lot me than I got. It’s not my responsibility to stand behind Basscats junk. Besides that Rick said there was no problem with it. So which way are we going to have it? Either there is a problem and Basscat should have fixed it or there is no problem and I can feel free to sell it to anyone. You guys are drunk on the Kool Aid. I can’t believe the crap you come up with.
Yep, I say Roll On as well. The man offered to correct the issue, you chose to sell your boat.
He made an empty promise. I didn’t sell the boat til it was clear he was not going to make it right. To all of you guys that believe your buying into a family owned boat brand, that is no longer true. Rick sold his family business out years ago. He now runs a corporate boat manufacturer. This is how little guys are treated by corporations. Your just a number, you don’t mean anything to them. Drink up suckers. One day I will have a chance for a face to face with him and I can’t wait.
We have been very transparent in this thread. We now will attempt to work with the second owner if that’s an option. His thread will be closed now.
