Suppose to get new Cougar this weekend. What do I need to do about protecting the boat .
When I got my boat I asked this guy in the club ,who took extra great care of his boat, what he used.He said “Bass Boat Saver and I sprays it on everything”.So I asked what does he put on the outboard to keep it so shiney. He said “Bass Boat Saver and I sprays it on everything”.I asked does he use it on the windowshield. He said “yes, I spray it on everything”.I asked does he use it on the steering wheel.I asked what does he do for his seatsAnd he replied…”Bass Boat Saver I SPRAY IT ON EVERYTHING”. lol Then he also told me what he does is dilute it 50/50 with water. Its shipped concentrate but they dont tell you that.
Pro-tec wax/polish the Bassboat saver after every trip
Meguires or mothers carnauba wax on boat, lemn pledge on seats, wet chamois on windshield! To clean seats use Dow scub bubbles and rinse offMothers aluminum wheel polish on rims
I use, and have for over 10 years, the ProTec marine sealant product. I find it to be the best out there. For wipedowns at the ramp, I use a product marketed by Wilson Frazier, called Shazaam—Does a great job for me.For water spots on the Merc, 50/50 water and white vinegar, then Shazaam.
Meguires Flagship has a new boat kit that will have everything you need in it. Wash, wax, detailer spray and applicator pad. It is easy to put on and take off. Bass Boat Saver is good between waxes. I also use Dow Scrubbing Bubbles on the seat.
I like BBS after each use, Collinite wax, and Lucas Slick Mist for the cowling.
Collinite 925 on the hull, lemon pledge on the seats, wet chamois for wipe down after each trip…
Zaino Brothers show car products.
I use Scrubin Bubbles on seat as recomended by BCB I also use Bass Boat Saver and Meguires spray detailer. For the windshileds I used a plexi glass gleaner called Plexus (its awesome) and for the wipe down at the ramp I use 50-50 mix of water and vineger with 1 teaspoon of dawn dish soap. Make sure on the motor and windshields you use a dam cloth to keep scratches down. never never wipe you motor with dry cloth. Always use micro fiber I also use Meguires wheel polish with power ball.
keep it in the garage so in 10yrs you can brag about the 22hrs you have on it. rollin
50% solution white vinegar and water for wipedown — then PRO-TEC IT !! — My 17 year old boat still shines . — Hoss

I swear by the Pro-Tec polish and showroom conditioner as a 1 2 punch. Polish a couple times a year and Showroom touch up after every few outings or even every outing. Wipe down asap after every outing will keep it looking good. Not sure if BCB recommends using Johnsons Lemon Pledge on the newer seats but for us with older rigs/style seats it works great to spray them down after a thorough cleaning with Bathroom scrubbing bubbles. My 10 year old seats look new after a good cleaning still and they are subject to Vermonts clay and cow crap which is tough on them believe me.
Ive just started using the protec products I really like them. Ive used the sealer polish a couple times now. Seems to last well. I also have used the lemon pledge for msny yrs. On my seats. Im curently using it on my seats know also. Im a believer in the pledge. I use it every other outing. Takesminimal time. Results will last msny years.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
