Good question!
Bass Cat Boats wrote:Good question!And…..a very good answer too! I didnt know any of this information and Im sure others were not aware either. Thanks BCB.Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!
That is a surprise (pleasant one). I thought with most going with the excellent layout of the PII on that lightning quick hull shared with the Classic and the Caracal coming out a couple years ago, the Classic had ridden off into the sunset for good. Will be very interested in what it looks like this coming summer. But please please put a larger cooler in this one. Us old guy not fishing tournaments bring lots of water, food, and an occasional ice cold adult beverage or two so we need more room…… Will be curious to see if the PII moves onto this new hull platform as well or if it will stay as is. It is a fun hull that has served us and BCB well. Thanks for sharing this news BCB.
This is awesome! This is one Im sure alot will be anxious to see. Glad to see our youth is being thought of as well as the older generation. Im sure it will be a hit as all Bcb models always are.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
It will not have the versatility or equipment that a Pantera II has. The P2 will continue to be a tournament rig for 200 engines.
I hope its still light 1,200lbs range along with a high performance hull & hand rails. 75+ with a 200 easy.
I have a 02 classic that I just recently bought with a 200 Optimax. When I test drove the boat it had a 3 blade, 25 pitch Yamaha prop. He said it was a 93 model prop. He gave me a 4 blade, 25 pitch predator eagle prop. The three blade prop out performed the four blade hands down. If anyone is interested in a four blade prop and has a 3 blade Yamaha prop as described, lets make a deal.
The model is coming along nicely and the development over the last month is significant. It seems they hit a snag right after dealer meeting and re-engaged. The deck and hull are part of this project, the internal floor and boxes are another part they are working on. Hull is complete including the mold, the deck is 95% and boxes are coming. BCB
Ok, can I assume (and we all know about assuming)that it will be released as soon as all testing is complete or is there a plan to hold out until the Bass Masters Classic for an unveil as with the Lynx?Any and all info you can pass on is greatly appreciated and I will be humbly grateful for.
The challenge with pre-releasing a new model is the anticipation and continued expectation for more information. We are a very transparent company, though not on R & D. They will release more information once the model is tested and ready for production. They can not afford the competition having access to the concepts before they release completed production and the direction they are headed on any new model.
I feel as with anything Basscat produces it will be worth the wait. But assumptions as they are I feel it will be priced under the p2. I cant wait to crawl around it and the Lynx at the classic.
I think they actually created that hump in all the newer boats so there would be a spot for the hot foot. I live near charlotte, if you wanna sit in a caracal. I suspect at your height you would have alot more room. I had to mount my hot foot all the way forward on the edge and im 6 tall. Have yet to visit rock outdoors. Drop by skyline too if your in the market those guys are good up there too, and have a pretty decent little tackle shop.
That raised area on the Pantera Classic is on all and is molded. The hull is tight below that and the lowered console design is the restriction on long legged folks. Mostly the legs and not all taller people dont fit. That is one thing a hot foot restricts. Be sure they have the slide extended all the way forwards to let your leg stretch also.
I recently bought a 2018 P2. The classic was a very close second. I am 64″ 255lbs. The P2 is ok for me. The classic actually had a tad more room in the console area. I agree make sure the hot foot is slid all the way forward. I actually place my foot to the left of the hot foot with my heel on the edge of the carpeted platform.
Thanks on the offer Louie and I may take up your offer sometime if I dont find a Caracal to look at closer to eastern N.C. If I bought new the Pantera Classic would be my first choice and if I went with a Caracal I would like to find one about 3 years old. I still have plenty of time before I will upgrade to see what comes along.
