We would try the new Fury on his application. In those days we ran a Predator PPS version that is NLA. The graphs can be resolved with a better battery.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on March 6th, 2012, 1:38 am, edited 1 time in total.

Ill have to wait until spring on the props, but for the battery Im running the sears 31 AGM series monster that was recommended in previous topics on BCB forum. I went with that hoping that we couldnt have the problems with the graphs any more. From what i remember i have 9.7 constant volts on the bow (HDS7) and roughly the same on the console(LMS28 i think) even when its fresh off the charger. If there are other suggestions let me know Im all ears and would do whatever it takes to get it working right. I had read a post where someone ran a heavier wire down the center of the boat from front graph all the way to the battery.Thanks

I run a 25 Fury on my 99 Jag never ran better, I also run a 25 trophy but doesnt seem to hold water like the Fury does. Trophy seems to be a tad faster on top end, and is my back up prop …. As far as graph issues go I ran a heavier gauge wire from the battery to the bow with a Sears PM-1 not a single hiccup since. I think the new HDS graphs draw alil more juice…

Not sure on your model but, I had a 99 pantera that I was experiencing a large voltage drop from the battery to my graphs. Not enough that they would shut off but enough that it bothered me. I found that there was a circuit breaker on the panel with the master power switch that was where the voltage drop was at. I replaced that and fixed mine. By using a digital multimeter you can check the in and out of those connections to find where your droping that voltage.

Sounds like it could be a corroded breaker also check the connections on the terminal block at the transom.

I run a 25 Fury right now on my 02 cougar/250 yamaha. Its been the best all-round prop Ive run. I think my cougar is a touch lighter than the jag so it may differ on whether you need a 25 or 26. Is your 250 the xb? That will matter as well– beast of a motor! With the 25 fury, my hole shot is excellent as is the midrange. The top end is surprisingly fast as well.

Ill have to see about trying out that 25 fury when ice melts.Tx76 The motor has 250EFI ECM and ECU and is otherwise capable of running the XB components, the rest of it being capable i should look into that.

I am running a 08 Puma powered by a Mercury 250 Pro XS, slide master jack plate set at flush, and 26 pitch trophy plus prop. I am hitting my rev limiter just prior to WOT and before trimming half way on the gauge. Theres been a lot of conversation comparing various props to the Rage. The question I have is ” How will the max RPMs compare between the 26 Trophy Plus and the 26 rage with the same set up.” If the answer is the same RPMs, it appears that I need to go to a 27 pitch on the rage. My rev limiter is kicking in at 5750 RPM. I notice some say they arer turning 6000, so there must be a difference between year models or possibly motors within the same year. Couldnt get a definitive answer from Mercury, but my local dealer said 5750 was about right. Id appreciate any comments. I would look for a 23 Trophy or Tempest. A good used one can be purchased fairly cheap on one of the boards.
