Great information share on this topic guys. I don’t have any experience with the 4 strokes but I would like to give you another option to try. Powertech’s TRO4 is very similar to a trophy. Not necessarily better but the one I had did lift slightly more than the trophy’s and was fairly quick. It could be worth a shot but I have no idea how it would perform with the 4 strokes. Also runs a little stiffer than the trophy’s as well. Keep up the good work and all of these P-II’s are awesome rigs. I had the pleasure of seeing JEH’s up close on some local water and it is a sharp setup!

Thanks for the comments Mudbug 169. You are doing good with the Fury 3. When you get the 23 Trophy + you might enjoy driving with it more than the Fury because it just “feels better” for an all around driving experience. Enjoy your beautiful P2.
Each owner that puts his comments here is helping others who come behind us with their own P2s. Thanks again and report back when you get to drive the 23 Trophy +.

Have and update on my P2..
The Tempest prop is the deal.. mid range and top end are outstanding!! Easy to drive wide open ..It lays up and roles !!
25p Tempest
-2 men @ 380 lbs total weight
-3/4 tank of full
-Full tournament load
-live wells empty
-ultrex trolling motor up front
– PTP is 2 3/4”
-5900 rpm
-74 mph
its going run over 75 mph all day long by myself … Can’t wait to run it again..
Mud bug, that is at the upper limits of the PII – so excellent speed. Similar to what I saw with my 2020 PII. How is the Hole Shot with the Tempest? Do you have the holes open or plugged on the prop?
I may look into a Tempest Plus for my new Sabre FTD w/ 175 ProXS 4s.
Barrigj
it has vent slots not holes ..it’s a older A45 Tempest..it’s been passed around the family for awhile now..
The Tempest are bow lift supremes..with all the weight we put on the nose of our boats now..it only made sense to run that prop..ultrex weighs around 80-85 lbs without a 360 and mega live attached to it..
You’ll love the mid range and top end performance..
hole shot is definitely slower than the Trophy and Fury but hands better after that…
My PTP was over 4″ from the factory. I have raised it maybe 1/2″. Looks like I could stand to raise it more, but then again, my max speed so far(not pushing it) has been 68, and not sure I really want to go faster.
Mud bug, I would like to speak with you if you have time. My number is 2259787047. Questions Regarding your progress.

PMantle, you only have to satisfy “yourself”. No shame at all running 68 for sure. You’re doing fine. Probably catching fish too!
Mudbug, thanks for the update. You’re getting great speed from the Tempest. I noticed that the ptp is 2 3/4″. I wonder if your hole shot would be better with a 23 pitch Tempest and your top rpm might be 6200. All these prop recommendations just never end do they? LOL
Enjoy your boat.

Killing them actually.
Just installed two lithiums for the TM. That may have a slight raising effect on the prop. Also, I asked for my Pole to be on the starboard side, so when fishing alone, I have been unbalanced some. Will be interesting to see the difference. Will be a couple of weeks though-going to Cocodrie for the trouts this weekend.
Just bumping the conversation up to the top page..
Bumping the thread .. 26 Trophy
Mudbug, that is very impressive. What RPM were you turning at that speed? What is your PTP?
Guys, I have been following this thread for a while. I have an 08 P2 with a 200 Optimax, 6″ slidemaster set flush, haven’t actually measured the prop to pad dimension. My boat is a dual console, run an Ultrex 80 with Mega 360 and Livescope, Helix 10 and Garmin 93SV up front. I have my girlfriend with me almost 100% of the time when I am out on the water, she is an absolute fish head like me so its awesome. I should mention I also run lithiums for the troller and no pony tank.
When I bought the boat it came with a 26 Trophy Plus with the small hub and a blow-out ring, I think two solid plugs and two small plugs, will have to double check that. There are a couple of minor dings on the edge of two blades and it looks like there was some cup added to the prop at some point in its life. With that prop I have ran up to 70.6 by myself and usually max out about 68 at 5500 rpm with both of us in there and running light on tackle. Most of the time in the summer running loaded we are hitting 66ish at about 5350 rpm. I know I run heavier than a lot of BCB owners.
I have a 26 Trophy Plus with the large diameter hub (no blowout ring required) that is in perfect shape, haven’t run that prop yet. Because of the loads I typically carry and fishing a lot of lakes that don’t allow for long top end runs and some speed limit lakes, I ended up getting a 24 Trophy Plus (large diameter hub) to try out this year. I figure that will get me back up into the sweet spot for the Optimax and maybe improve holeshot and midrange control. The 26 I have been running is an impressive prop but the holeshot has suffered based on load. I am hoping to get out this weekend with the 24 on there and will test the 26 with the large hub as well.
It seems that there is some experience in this thread with both the four strokes as well as the older 2 strokes. Has anyone compared the differences between the smaller diameter hub Trophy Plus vs the larger diameter hub? The smaller ones I have seen all run the blow out ring and they have a little bell flare at the back end of the hub where the large diameter doesn’t have that bell flare. How much of a difference does the cupping make on those props for the P2? When sending a prop to Ronnie for work, can he add a 1/2″, basically make the 24 into a 24 1/2″ I think that might be the sweet spot for how I run the boat.
Thanks guys,
TDobb
