We will be glad to send you another pad, though these are supposed to be urethaned in place also. Please look to see if there is a strip of urethane on the frame for us. Contact ] and they will be happy to send you a replacement. The piece being drug off that far back is a question for us? You have some steep ramps in FL with some flat basins, is it possible the angle of the ramp and flat basin is the issue? Other issues like this are launching the boat or loading it too deep on the trailer. Make sure those outside bunks are out of the water about 6 to 8″ or so. If the ramps are steeper, more needs to be out. BCB
can i replace with rollers
I had a roller installed at that location, works much better!!!BAYOU BANDIT
You could install a roller there, though especially on a Sabre we have never seen an incident. The Sabre hull is shorter than the 20 hulls and there should be no issues. That is one reason we are concerned if the guard had urethane, and what other issues may have caused this.Since we have never seen this on a Sabre, we are rather curious. BCB
I have an 06 Cougar and mine did the same thing. Have you seen this problem with the Cougars?Russell Jacks
On the 20 hulls we have seen it on those with a Hamby. BCB
the sabre also has a hamby too. There is no adhesive for sure. The rig was at the dealer 70 miles away to have trolling motor trasducer installed that was never installed properly at BCb. The 1st trip after that it came off and now I have a scrath on mynew boats boot!!!!!!!!! Bcb is sending a replacment pad. I would rather bcb send me rollers factory sized to match the bolt patternalready there. I would pay for that. The rubber pad is cheap way to protect the keel. It certainly doesnt do the trailer justice. How do i fix the scratch and who pays for that damage caused by the defective part? Dont get me wrong. I love the entire rig. Bcb make them with rollers going forward and while we are at it how about running light holders in the 2nd rod locker. That cost about $4
We have used the rubber guard for several years with very few issues. Actually only a few. BCB
Not sure what the part is called but its a rubber guard that is held by two screws, center of the beams. This one is next to the axle. Its like a rub rail. The rubber detached on one side and now the screw is exposed!!!!!!!!!crap. New sabre with a new scratch on the boot. Help
These are set on a splined shaft and they we so tight we dont think they can travel over the splines. They can come loose, though we dont think it will jump. Not sure what the issue is though we sure would have someone check it.
I will pull it apart tomorrow and see what it looks like..will let you know.
All four tires of tow vehicle level? My front two when I went to a suburban didnt contact so well in certain slopes until I put enough drop back there. C.O.D. Jr. III

The bolt is tight but it definitely stripped the splines on the axle spindle
