If anyone believes that the Ultrex lower unit does not emit a strong magnetic field, hold a permanent magnet close to it. I promise you it will attract. As for the electrical connections, I was fortunate to find two wires, red and black dead ended beneath the access panel underneath the trolling motor foot control. Checked with a multi meter and found 12V controlled by the switch on the bow panel that activates the bow trim switches. I located the heading sensor in the exact same place that BCB installs the forward GPS puck. If I should encounter any problems, I will inform all. Dont expect any though. Deploying the trolling motor puts this magnetic field at sufficient distance from the heading sensor that it does not cause interference.
