This post was started with the question above. There has been some multiple motor ownership comments that should provide the feedback for big64 evaluations. Merc is a standard in the BassBoat market but new technology from other motors only benefit all with bass boat ownership endeavors. Its called competition and the customer benefits from it. Doesnt say big64 is going to buy right now it only helps him make a more informed decision for him. I think its great we have this forum to assist any potential basscat owner to “Join the Family”. The only thing I regret are comments like “Koolaide” that becomes toxic and has no relevance for big64. Be secure with what you have, state your honest assessments with your ownership and let those who are considering their next BassCat decide for themselves. I like you had a very hard time leaving my previous two stroke (Evinrude) in my switch to my current motor Yamaha VmaxSHO. I had a great ownership experience with my Etec and would be my two stroke motor choice if I went back to two strokes. All that said I have made the switch to four stroke technology and I havent looked back. There are so many positives FOR ME in my six month plus transition and cant see myself ever returning. The four stroke motors are quiet, strong, no more oil mixing and purchasing but most importantly my dealer is a master mechanic with my motor and a guy I TRUST with my $40,000 to $50,000 purchase. You can state many of the positives for two strokes too. Big64 has already priced out a Puma with a Merc. However, big64 wants feedback from SHO ownership experiences. You can make a great case for all the motors as long as its on a BassCat. Going forward there is nothing wrong with posting the positives. Call it cheerleading and Im all for that. Bring it on. Thats what I do for BassCat all the time and hope big64 will soon be in a Cat with a SHO or Merc or any other motor that might put him in a boat. Good luck and keep posting questions.BassCat Strong!Last edited by Flyswatter on January 24th, 2011, 2:35 pm, edited 1 time in total.
