I was fishing Friday and broke the throttle cable from my hot foot to my Merc. Paul came over and we talked for about 30 minutes. He tried to help, but said they had no cables on his trailer. BUT, if he had one, I have no doubt he would have given it to me. Nice guy and I really enjoyed our visit. I did luck up and Carlton Marine in Hemphill fixed my cable that evening for me so I was good to go for our tx on the weekend.

Couldnt have said t any better myself. After meeting Rick Pierce, Kevin Short, and all other BCB reps the first time we were on a first name basis. When Kevin came up to me as I was loading the boat and said, “Josh, yall catch em?” I was thinking this is awesome. Kevin Short knows my name and is wondering what I got LOL!! We had a blast! Everyone was great. Got to know a few great fisherman and swap stories and make new friends. Our weekend couldnt have went any better…besides maybe a 1.75lbs!!! LOL!

Yep, on day one I pulled out the Boo Rig and specifically asked Rick and Kevin if it was legal or not. After some close inspection and thinking, Kevin said it didnt break any rules and he didnt see a problem with it. Rick agreed. But, only 2 keepers were caught on the Boo Rig over the coarse of the tournament. Everything else came on a crankbait, jerkbait, ds, and spook.

I know Im pretty specific in what Im looking for, but hopefully I can find one real close. Power pole is a want, not a need, but I will not buy another MG or Lowrance. I switched all my stuff out to Humminbird and MK and love them. Im die hard BCB, but man I have found some DEALS on 14 skeeter fx/250 SHO boats. Low 40s decked out. Hoping to find a comparable BCB for not much more. Im not in a huge rush.

I was very impressed with the turnout. We were able to pay $1400 for first place! Not too bad for something we threw together in a couple of weeks. Sam and I had a great day, but fell a little short. Had one big one break off and dropped 3 others over 5lbs. But Ill take 2nd in a field as stacked as this one was.
