I have a Dean’s cover and like it. I really like the seperate motor cover. I use to tow with a Toyota Tacoma and didn’t have any real problems when towing with the cover though you will use your side mirrors more.

As far as scratches, I did find some on my boat after coming back from the OI with the cover on. Not real bad, but they are there. I don’t know if you could completely eliminate them unless you ran a sheet of saran rap down each side as others have mentioned. As sick as I was to see the scratches from the cover, I wasn’t near as sick about those after I climbed under my boat to wash it after the OI. When I beached by boat for the weigh-in, I put about 30, 3′ scratches down the bottom. I about threw up when I saw them as there wasn’t the first nick before I left for the trip. Completely my fault as I saw what was on the bank, just didn’t realize it would eat the boat up that bad.

Anyway, don’t think you could go wrong with either cover. Lt me know if you need a few pictures of the Dean’s cover installed on a Sabre.

Well, thanks to everyone for the information above. I just got back from California and was able to extend my trip so I could fish on Casitas. The weather was beautiful, just a bit on the breezy/chilly side. The day we fished was partly cloudy, water temps at 58 degrees and air temps in the mid 50s. The lake was beautiful with a stark difference from lakes in the Birmingham area. Upon arriving, the guide told me that the swimbait bite had not been productive and that we would be fishing a drop shot most of the day. We fished really hard (well as hard as you can dead sticking a 4″ worm in open water) but unfortunately we didnt boat a fish. I didnt have a hit and I think the guide may have had one. I was definately a bit disapointed after reading so much about the trophy fish caught there. Oh well, I guess that is fishing. Thanks again for the help. Chris

I have a 90 degree turn from my driveway into the basement. The pop axle option works as advertised and I highly recommend it. Operation takes less than 90 seconds pinning the axle up, or dropping it back down. I have a few pictures I would be happy to send you via email. I believe I saw a post last week where BCB mentioned approximately 1,175 lbs for the tandem. Chris

Thanks Buddy. If I travel to the area, I will definately give you a call. I just hate that I missed seeing the one that was at Airport Marine, 10-minutes from my house. Chris

Thanks for the input guys. I tried to get a loaner from my dealer but they are closed until next Monday. I may order the 24 Fury and leave it box stock. I thought I was doing the right thing by having the 25M balanced and blueprinted but I guess that makes the prop more prone to have cracks. What a drag though, my daughter is away at camp this week so my wife and I were going to fish every afternoon after work. We had a good afternoon yesterday and were excited about going back today. I guess I am boatless for a week. Chris

Bass Cat Boats wrote: That is probably putting pressure on the support assembly inside the coupler and the source of the noise. It will not be an issue and if the brakes are working, then the coupler is fine. The noise we suspect is loosening at the hitch and ball assembly, also check the spring loops and shackles, pivot parts. We are suspect that your brakes are not working. To reduce that coupler stress you should use the lock out tab that came in yoru black bag, with delivery. If you dont have one they can ship one from Parts. I am a bit confused, do you think the noise is from the support assembly or loosening of the hitch ball assembly? Is there a specific reason you feel the brakes are not working? I will try backing up with the lights unplugged to confirm their operation. I will call parts regarding the lock out tab. I know I did not get one with the boat, long story.
