catdude28: Ive actually seen that rig, its a beauty just too far out of my budgetI think im leaning more towards the PII or PIV cats. Do you guys know the difference between them and the highwe models? Im pretty sure theyre built witht the same hull, its just more layout thats different if Im correct?Any thoughts if my Toyota Tacoma 4.0L V6 will be able to handle any of these rigs? Its able to tow 6500lbs but im just hoping i dont need to upgrade my truck as well and that it should be able to handle at least a 19 er but hoping a 20??

The P4 is proving to be very hard to find. How do you guys feel about the Pantera classic? Comparable to P4 on ride? Not as many options from what I understand? There just doesnt seem to be many P4s for sale

Im partial to HB, ive never run lowrance but i know lot of guys like them and like them. I bought the onix 8 SI last spring and am blown away by it. I went with it because of the 360 possibility if i wanted to add it on later but havent done it yet. I got a very good deal because Cabelas made a large mistake because they priced their SI model at the price of the non-SI model which they quickly corrected after I pointed it out haha. I know a lot of guys are saying they really like the Helix and the price point is much less with similar capabilities to the Onix. The Helix 9 and above can all be networked as well. Ive also heard the Onix hasnt sold well because of its price point which is why theyre pushing the Helix so hard. If price is a concern as it is for most of us, the Helix will provide you with very similar capabilities as the Onix for less $$. I have no opinion on Lowrance because I have no experience with it

Completely agree. I back down the ramp to the edge of the lake where I can still walk behind and undo my transom tie downs, then back about half way into the lake, get out and unhook the winch. The extra 20 seconds to do it is worth it if it saves a disaster. When I reload, I do the same. Pull out of the water enough with the winch attached and then put the transom tie downs back on. Its worth the extra time it takes for peace of mind knowing its not sliding off going back up the ramp.

What size lakes are you looking to be on? FYI, I just bought an 08 cougar Advantage elite with a 225 merc opti, 280 hrs in excellent shape. No electronics or poles and I paid 22k. I fish the Great Lakes often so I went with a 20 fter but all depends on your needs. The market has been slow in the early to mid 20k range for the last 6 months it seems, but there are some bots still for sale.Take a look at the Pantera 2 and pantera 4. The 4 was the initial boat I looked at but theyre hard to find especially in my area. Good luck! The searching can be frustrating but when you find it youll know. My girlfriend of says I love my boat more than her.. She could be right haha

BCB : I seem to be making it around the vent fine because I have the transducer cable tied and being pulled from the console as I feed the rest through near the vent. I can hear ducer connection near the shift handle when I juggle it. Ive been ae to twist the face plate of the shift plate cover by depressing to pressure points and I can see 4 her nuts behind. Is there any way to move the plate further?
