From what I have heard of Blistering is not real common, but it does happen. Also rub markers on the hull was my question as well.
Now that is a good looking Cat.Coley
I find that is the case with most new products it is a learning curve.
Bama96 I like your breakin time table, had called yamaha and they really did not have anything other than the standard for the f4. I have never done the breakin on a four stroke outboard, but have many V8 motors. What we have found out of the V8s is that we would change oil and filter at 300 to 400 miles, then preform the oil change at the standard time when the motor gets to 3000 miles. You basicaly have one extra oil change this way, but it gets out the dirty oil from the first few hours. What this has done it takes a little longer for the motor to set in, but the motor seems to be more stable in the long run and seem to run smoother plus a little stronger. This is with HP rating from 250 thru 480, have had almost all go for over 200,000 miles in rough service. What I am thinking is to change the oil and filter after the first 2 hours then at 10 hours, but do you know if they run breakin oil in the 4 stroke motors? So any other ideas?
BCB it seems they only get better with time, they are above all else honest and what more can you ask for.
I missed it too Rick, but as always you and the BCB family are a class act.
Have 2010 Puma Ftd with 250 SHO, have had it about one month. It is like a rocket can not believe the mid range and yes the ventless prop Yamaha 27P. Still learning to drive, but 72.8 at 5200 with 46 gal and 3 people.
I would think 81-82, but have rode in one for demo that was 79.6. The higher numbers will be the best i think I will see.
The SHO really puts the torque to the 27 prop, it takes some getting us to. But the water was like glass, with a little chop I think the #s whould have been faster. Jigging that was from Freds back to Bayou Manchac on the Amite. By the way the rooster tail was about a foot higher than the motor, may need to drop jack plate to get more speed?
Last time I was there I found all of my fish in the water, just picking have not been there since 95.
We can do that, it goes to water about almost everyother day.
Not realy just dont have to go that far most of the time.
I have heard about Dear fiberglass on 4H club road, I have had no negetive info on them. But do not know how picky they really are.Dear Fiberglass(225) 664-940024005 La Highway 1032, Denham Springs, LA70726
