I too think it is the foot switch. Its on an 05 PIV. 8 years old Im going to try a new switch first. Then go from there. But I am going to talk to someone in the profession before I start changing parts. Lucky for me my father n law owns an electric motor shop.
I replaced the up button on my bow this summer. Get you some silicone and put a light bead on the top of the acc plate. My button rusted out from water running down behind the plate. Oh yeah its an 05 boat. 9 years before replacing awesome…
Got them installed an burning.
I have a grounding problem with mine. They blink for miles after I leave the house. But on long trips it clears up after 6 to ten miles. Do I need a new ball and clean out my receiver of rust. And the tounge where the ball goes. I use to use dielectric grease. It could have a build up in there?
I purchased a on off on rocker switch for mine. Installed under console. Works great.
Scubaman is that the yellow cap seen in picture
I can see it seeping out of the rams.
looks good!!!!
i have a couple. the way i did mine was i mounted the strips and ran the pig tails into rod lockers on the bow. i did not want to drill holes into my 10 year old 40,000.00 dollar boat. the lights on the back deck i did the same way but i ran the wires through the drain hole in the gutter of those boxes. ill send you some pictures if youd like.
Steve 187. Duh!!!! Thanks for your great input. You helped tremendously.
Red goo mine did not require these.
On my 99 jag it did the same and one summer I ad thermostats replaced and it still did it. Do you get an alarm? Is your motor a optimax? I know for a fact it will shut itself down before you totally burn it up. Someone here will help you more than I. Im not trying to still your thread, but I have a 05 200 hp EFI Mercury but when I stand on throttle to come out of hole I have a steady alarm as it peaks to fall over on plane. I replaced water pump impeller Friday cause it had been right at 3 years. Carried it out to day and the same problem. Now I can ease it over on plane and no problems. Idle I have 5 psi and 15 when on plane and just easing around 35-45 mph. I had gasket material in the hose from motor to output on cowling. What should I be looking at? New thermostats, poppet valve? Or could it be water in water fuel separator? Again not trying to jack a thread.
Im going to tell you guys this, if @WarriorRiverTackle says he can get it for you. He can do and will do it. This guy does it cause he wants to help out fellow anglers. I have bought six Diawa TATULAs from him and we meet at his convenience at a gas station. How many folks you know will go out of their way to meet you. He has saved me $$$$ on shipping fees. I recommend this company to anyone looking for a good deal on tackle.
Fish okra, you got pictures of your boat. No need to apologize we are all friends here.
