The 8 power poles are well worth the money…I have two of them on my boat and the install is very easy…Backing under a garage should not be an issue. I keep a remote in my truck and as I am backing in the garage I lower them down until the poles clear the door and then raise them back up.
You are correct about turning the speed down. You can turn it down to 20% or less and the interfernce is minimal. But as you know, no one can fish with the motor that low. I dont understand why it would have just started?
Hey Doug…….how many places do you fish ? And do you EVER catch them ? Lol Thanks for the compliment….Last edited by CrankNstein.basscatowners on September 20th, 2010, 11:37 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I have used both units. I have never had an issue with the Bird coming unplugged in rough water. For side imaging I would go with Bird (No extra cost for SI and alot of places have the 1197 for $1999 right now). For fishing grassy lakes I would also go with the Bird ( The Lowrance locks up alot in grass). For deep structure fishing and “fishing off the graph” I would go with the Lowrance. The lowrance seems to have a crisper picture compared to the Bird. They are both great but decide which one suits your style…
I hated to see that happen. Me and my partner helped your dad lift the other trailer off so the damage wasnt worse. I dont think the guy was paying attention at all.
