I forgot to say this: I am soooo impressed with this boat!! My first bass boat was a 1999 Bass Tracker PT185, then I got a 1998 ProCraft 17 fish/ski, then a 1991 Champion 190, then a 1997 Champion 181, and this year the 2009 Ranger 188 VX. When I got in the Ranger I found myself missing my old Champions, except when the trolling motor was down (that Ranger did fish pretty well). Having only spent one day on the water with the Cat, I dont see myself reflecting on past memories of my old boats!! The BassCat excells in every area and exceeded my expectations!!! I dont see myself ever looking for another brand, Pierce Family: Keep up the great work!!!!!

Funny that you call this area Nor Cal, I lived in Red Bluff for a summer after high school and everyone up there called it So Cal. We call it Central Cal, everything from Bakersfield to Stockton.

Not only have I found a boat that I am extremely satisfied with, but it is backed by the best customer service/company in the industry!! My wife and I are already talking about driving out to Arkansas next year for the OI!! You all should consider a west coast OI, maybe at the Cal Delta or Clear Lake 😉

Check out swimbaitnation.com swimbaits are more than just a Cali thing. I am determined to figure them out this year and have had followers and slaps, but no hook ups so far.

There is NOTHING better than introducing the young ones to this sport and spending the quality time with them!! I have fished tournaments with both of my sons in a local club geared toward family participation. My wife is my usual partner and we fish the BBT, which is a direct competitor of AC-WRL and FPT, circuit together. We just qualified for the TOC at Clear Lake, so the next two tourneys are going to be with my sons, individually. My 10 year old wants to fish McClure and my 11 year old wants to fish the Cal Delta (like father like son there!!) Memories they will have with them forever, thats certain! On a side note, the first fish caught on our BassCat was by my 11 year old. It was a 6 pound Florida strain large mouth at Hensley Lake. Not only did he break 3 pounds, which required a reproduction mount based on a deal I made with him several years ago, but he outfished me that day, which requiresd him getting his own Dobyns Champion rod of his choice (on my dime) based on another deal I made with him last year.
