My hats off to those boys who fished the Atchafalya Basin this week . Where they launched at is only about 15 miles from my house , and they had some real tough conditions , the water is high and muddy with allota wind . I fished pretty close to them on sat. and only managed 3 lil dinks !!!!!!!!

Id look at the new Toyota Tundras also . Ive got an 08 mdl Tundra with the 5.7 ltr and it tows my 08 mdl cougar great and stops it even better . Its got plenty of power for pullin in the hills and still gets about 14 mpg doin it ( if I keep my foot out of it ) !!!!!!!!!!!

I say that if your not at a real high elevation low 80s is the norm with a good settup and some cool weather . Ive got an 08 with a 225 ho and have ran it 77 mph a few times and 74 any day with 2 ppl and a tx load .Great riding and handling hull though , I love my Cougar !!!!!!!!!!

I went with the 80 skill and 20 luck . But I also beleive that whoever does the most scouting in the 2 or 3 days before a tx has a BIG advatage over someone who only scouted 1 day or none at all . That is if there a decent fisherman .

That is an easy fix with a rivvet gun . Mine was loose and I fixed it in all of 10 min. . Call the service department at Bass Cat and theyll tell you what size rivvert you need or maybe even send you some , and then take the screw out of the very end of the rubrail at the motor and pull the lil plastic center peice out all the way up to where its loose at , and then drill out old rivvet and replace with new ! Then reverse to put it back together , its really very simple and quick !!!!!!!!!!!

I live in S. Louisiana and fish alot of very shallow water . Ive got on pad numerous times in 2 ft of water with no probs , the prop wont be perfect forever , but nobodys in S Louisiana that fishes alot is !!!!!!!! It does matter how many ppl are in the boat , livewells , and fuel , but I can get up in 2 ft of water with no problems !!!!!!
