Well, it is a problem. Supply chain for resin, parts, electronics, Motors, built in Battery chargers, etc……are a problem and will continue thru 2022. I am holding off on placing my new Puma order until all this settles down so I can get everything I want and not be disappointed because I could not get or have to wait a long time to get everything I want on my New Puma.
I have a friend who fishes MLF and other circuits and he was told to consider keeping his electronics on his 521 Ranger because they can’t guarantee he will get them for his new boat when the 2022 tournament season starts, he also said he was at Ranger for a meeting and they had 31 boats sitting there waiting on Gas tanks! This building boom in housing, Auto, and across all industries with lack of supply, raw materials, and inventory will be followed by huge surplus and a downturn in the economy, then we will have NO problems getting whatever we want, businesses will be pleading for customers with everyone having huge supply of product, the competition will be fierce and competing for our business. Businesses are very concerned what is coming next after the supply chain catches up and demand for product drops off…. it’s coming! The time is coming when Car dealers have cars & trucks for sale again with incentives to move them as they pile up on lots with slow demand, this will be the case across all businesses, it’s going to hit hard and it’s going to be ugly.
THE QUESTION IS WHEN? Either very late 2022 or 1sr Qtr 2023…….
First, thank you for your thoughts. I’m remaining optimistic but I agree with everything you said. My concern is I may get a boat with resin that is of poor quality. But I’m not about to wait another year. That’s crazy! I do not have a boat. From what I understand there are shortages, but not all of those parts you mentioned are in short supply at the same time. But “outsourcing” fiberglass and/or resin is a HUGE concern. I will voice my concern to my regional Rep and Bass Cat when the time comes.
Thanks again and good stuff.

I also ordered a new Bass Cat Puma STS on June 24th , it has already been communicated to me it is 5 weeks behind schedule with an anticipated arrival of mid December. It was originally projected to be delivered mid October. I never thought about bad Covid Resin… 😨🤕
Plugg – Thanks for your reply. That’s still not a bad delay. Congrats!

I’ve heard a ton of rumors and crossed my fingers it wouldn’t happen to me and my boat order. Ordered my 2022 Sabre sp may 10 of this year and the boat should be here next week. Almost 5 month build time which is what they had told me would be max build time . I’ve heard motors are there biggest worry but think the 175 is odd ball enough it didn’t affect me much.. if I were you id bite the bullet stick with basscat and hang in there lol it would be worth the wait
Deltar – Thanks for your reply. There’s no biting the bullet on my end. I’m more than happy to wait and never crossed my mind to go to another manufacturer. I was just seeing what others’ experience was to get a better picture of the issues. Thank you!
My August 2021 factory tour was informative. Rick Pierce has a great 2016 YouTube video that not only shows his transparency in the build process but also the level of detail in the manufacturing process. Bass Cat truly is a superior product. His passion demonstrates a level of commitment that will ensure Bass Cat remains a leader in this highly competitive industry. With the many challenges in today’s market, I’m confident Bass Cat’s focus on quality will remain a priority during the build process. This is the main reason Bass Cat has clearly separated itself from the competition.
I’m glad I’m part of this family

Ordered a new Lynx on September 21, 2021. when will this boat be completed? Have asked for multiple updates from dealer with no answers. Can you bass cat guys answer this or message me for additional info, as I am about to get a refund on my deposit as the promised delivery is way passed and go to a Phoenix or something else because this is not the usual basscat customer service. I want answers on delivery when I’m spending 90k+ on a boat.
Thanks in advance
I ordered mine last. My biggest fear is all of these delays and I am starting to get a little anxious about it. I understand the supply issues. But I just want BCB to communicate with me better. I’m not at the point where I’m going to back out yet. I got a friend of mine who’s in a similar situation and he is seeing delays. In fact, his order was definitely pushed back behind other orders that I know were ordered after his.
It seems to me, BCB can do a much better job with their communication. These build dates appear to be a random dates BCB is throwing out there to the customer. If it gets worse I will back out.

I hit a deer with my new 2021 ford f-150. Due to the microchip shortage, Ford stopped producing which included fenders back in October which are proprietary to only use on the 2021 model. The part was on backorder for 4 months. I was without that truck 4 months waiting on a new fender. Thankfully I finally got it completed!
How is this even relevant to the topic???
I’m really glad to see this post. I was just about to start my own post regarding the long delay in my boat cover. I put my Puma STS order in last September of 2021. I received my boat June 7th 2022. I was told the cover would follow about 6 weeks at the most. The last update in August was November. This is 100% unacceptable. But what has me furious was my call to the factory. Sure, I expected the typical excuses of the pandamic, labor shortages, material sourcing. Blah, blah, blah. But I was told by the BXB parts representative they would refund my money and I can go elsewhere. Yep that’s right. I cannot express how angry I was and I let them know it. If I would have known I was going to have this delay I surely would have sourced a boat cover myself in February of 2021.
Lately I simply get no response from my Emails. In an email a few days ago expressed my frustration and why I need my cover ASAP. BCB response? Crickets. I’ve really tried to be patient, professional, and understanding. I hesitated posting what I’m about to say. This is not my last vass boat. My next boat will NOT be a Bass Cat. The boat has been fantastic with only minor issues. However, this type of delay and how it has been handled has me very frustrated. It’s enough for me to go elsewhere.
Chuck Bumpilori:
Sir, I understand your frustration and that you’re very PO’d. I just looked again and Aurora still shows a cover for the STS on their website. If I were you I’d check on the availability of that cover and maybe make a deal on that one and a refund on your boat deal. Many other covers at discounted prices on that website for those who are looking.

A custom cover is just what it implies. Custom, designed for my boat, with my options, electronics, trolling motor, and moreover, the dual console. I seriously doubt that cover will fit my boat’s specs exactly. That is why BCB orders these covers 6 weeks prior to the build date. This is done because no other spec changes can be made. Again, I simply want what I paid for and ordered. Yes, I’m PO’d. But I really appreciate your information. Thank you.
