I have a 2012 Pantera Classic with a Merc 200 Pro XS. Single console. It has aound 100hrs, i believe its around 96 hrs. I can get the actual hours this weekend if you are interested. I was planning to sell next year and i do not have it listed but I saw your post and decided to respond to see if you are interested. It has been well taken care of. I am the 2nd owner. First owner took very good care of the boat, had 49 hrs when i bought it. I always use non-ethanol gas. It has a single axle trailer. Hummingbird 788Ci HD DI on console and 788c on bow. MG trolling motor. NOCO 3 bank charger. Water Pressure guage and Mercury guage. I also have the flipping deck insert. Not sure if you can see the picture but these are my exact colors. Email me if you are interested and I will get the actual hours and pics of the actual boat. My email is tmhudson77@gmail.com. I am located in NC.Mark Hudson

I am considering a Caracal and that is my only concern with the boat. I am right handed and generally like to cast to the left side of the boat. I prefer to have my rods behind me while fishing and I would not like my rods by the net holder. I can see rods going overboard when pulling out the net. The shorter deck on the Caracal doesnt seem to be long enough for your rods on the starboard side of the deck. It looks to me like they could move the seats and move the drivers console toward the center of the boat about 4″ which would add space for the rod tips by the console. I know this would eliminate the passenger rod box, but who uses that anyway? I only see this being useful if you are traveling overnight with a co-angler who needs to lock their rods up. The passenger rod box also reduces the size of the storage behind the passenger seat. I would much prefer a standard rod ramp for the passenger (like the Eyra or other 20 boats), with a larger storage box behind the passenger seat, and room for the rod tips by the drivers console? What do others think? I would like to hear from someone with a Caracal. I still love the Caracal, dont get me wrong, I just feel that would be a better layout for most anglers. The Lynx seems to be built this way. Of course the front deck on the Lynx is probably long enough for your rods to lay in front of the console. They Lynx is nearly perfect, Havent priced a Lynx yet but Im sure its a lot more expensive than the Caracal. I like the wide deck of the Caracal and Lynx but this is my only problem with the Caracal and I may choose the Cougar for this very reason. Just my .02 cents worth. Would like to know what others and BCB thinks about this.

Unread post 05 Mar 2018 22:25 #5Like to have that rig, liked my 02 Classic. Too long of a round trip though as I live in Calif. and have health problems that prevent me from making that long of drive. Good luck to you – would have thought that rig would be gone by now. ^^^^^^There are carriers who will pick it up and deliver. I know several who have done this in the past.

Boat is Sold. I traded it on a new Caracal a few weeks ago. Dealer sold it in less than a week.

I have a G2 on my 2018 Caracal. With (2) 8′ blades and (2) 26 gal. tanks. I’m still playing with the vent holes in the prop b/c I don’t like the hole shot. Especially with the live wells full. Top end is low to mid 70’s like others have said. I have always owned Mercs and I have never been a fan of Evinrudes, but it was on the boat that I could not pass up and I like the matching colors. With a 10 yr warranty I figured it was worth a shot. I’ve got about 30 hrs on it so far and I haven’t had any issues. Everyone talks about how strong these motors are. I came out of 2012 Pantera Classic with a 200 Optimax and that was the most responsive boat I have ever driven. So its hard for me to compare. I would like to know what prop you other guys with a G2 are running and how you have your vent holes set. If anyone has a prop to pad measurement, that would be nice too.
