Its funny you guys mention Danny Vasquez and the rest of the Merc/BCB crew! They are truly magicians when it comes to anything and everything Mercury and/or Basscat! I cant say enough about any of them. Unfortunately, every year I go, theres always something I need done and its a very rare occasion that Im charged for anything, although Ive offered.. Rick Pierce is a true gentlemen and every single employee below him has the same characteristics, for that reason alone, I would never, I repeat NEVER own another brand of boat, I dont care if it were free, sponsored, whatever, it will always be Basscat for me! Kudos guys! Pat
Honestly, I dont think Ive ever seen a speedo that worked on a bass boat, its just one of those things I suppose. Theyre always clogged and once cleaned out, it will just get clogged again. Just get a GPS and call it a day.
Ive got an 04 Cougar FTD DC with a 225 Opti, 109# MG 36v Troller, new batts at OI, All work on it has been done by Basscat and Danny Vasquez from Merc at the Tournament trailer at the OI. Basically a new motor in 08, probably 30 hrs on it since then. I just dont fish much any more and it doesnt get used. It has an X-15 and flash in the dash, 510C on the bow, swim ladder, satellite radio, and more. I dont think I have any recent pics, but I can take some if it ever stops raining, lol. Its charcoal, black bottom and red bolt outline. Dual console, tandem trailer. It has some scratches on it from flipping Lake of the Ozarks, but sound and nothing major, Id rate it an 8 or 10 cosmetically, 10 of 10 performance wise. Comes with a cover as well. Let me know, the boats in the St. Louis area and I can meet within reason. Id sell it for $20k and its ready to fish!
Ok guys, pics are uploaded, Ill send out a link via email as well. Some things worth mentioning here: First, I apologize as I didnt realize the boat was that dirty… Theres some sand on the passenger floorboard, and some dirt on the sides of the boat, I came home from the OI and parked it, and it hasnt been touched. if nobody buys it in the next week or so, Ill clean it up real good and post some fresh pics with a new ad, I think the price is cheap enough, its definitely priced to sell. 1. Cover needs a strap sown on, I have the strap and will include, friend of mine moved the boat and the strap got caught under the wheel and tore it off, not a big deal, but… 2. The back port side corner has the worst scratches, I got caught on a dock cable on Lake O and couldnt get away fast enough. Theres one scratch that is the deepest on the cap by the FTP/Silhouette stickers, pics are there. (watch your boat carefully and dont depend on a co-angler looking out for you… 3. The motor still has warranty through 09, not sure what month, but I dont think it would be much for the right guy to look it up. But its basically new in 08 at the OI and runs great. 4. Boat has an alarm installed by Basscat, swing away tongue, and Ill also include 1-XL Red Basscat vest and some other stuff as well, also has a hotfoot. 5. Terrys at Lake of the Ozarks on Hwy W will repair all of the scratches for less than $1500, closer to $1000 he said, this was last fall. Hes done some work on an old Sabre I had and does an amazing job, Im sure anyone thats used him will attest to this, but anyone can fix the cosmetic issues Im sure for the same price or less. 6. The only reason the boat/trailer is raised like it is was because of the rain and drain purposes, its never kept that high. 7. The glove box can use some fresh glue, which I can do if youd prefer, as well as new stickers on the motor, they can be had for what Ive been told $15. Theyre ok, just starting to peel and not perfect. The cowling is fine and no issues. Not sure what else to add, but heres a link to the pics: http://www.bistategolf.com/cougar If anyone wants any hi res or additional pics, just let me know and Ill take some and send them over or post them, either way. Any questions, shoot me an email. [email protected]
I should be a little more specific on the glove box, what needs some glue, is the carpet on the inside, no big deal at all. Still stays dry as well as all of the boxes.
