Thanks for all the compliments, thanks to Rick and Ivan for all their help, and thanks to Andy at Greenes for the great delivery. This is my fifth Bass Cat, started with a Pantera II in 1992 which I bought from Greenes. Had a couple of Rangers thrown in the mix, but Bass Cat was and sitll is my favorite boat and boat company.Got to put about 3 break in hours on the boat today. The SHO is very smooth, quiet, and deceptively fast. Very quick holeshot, only had it up to about 65 mph due to break in. I will give a more informed post on performance next week after getting a few more hours on the motor. I do have to mention that the new latches are the best I have seen on any boat, great quality. Thanks again for all the kind words.Tom

If it is a 250 SHO like mine. Take the cowling off and on the starboard side of the engine is a round metal pulley that the throttle cable is attached to. If you look at this round metal pulley there is a mark that lines up with a mark above it when the throttle or hotfoot is wide open. The throttle does not have a stop on the engine it will go past wide open, you must line these marks up when your hotfoot is down against the stop bolt. If the marks do not line up use the stop bolt behind the hotfoot to line the marks up when the hotfoot is fully compressed.Mine was opening completely when it was delivered.Tom

To my knowledge Yamaha does not make a 26 ventless. I have a Mark Croxton worked 27 ventless that will run 80 mph, but is slow out of the hole with a tournament load, so looking for a 25 ventless..

I tried a 26 Fury and it didnt have near the lift of the Yamaha prop, especially at 4000-5000 rpm. I am running 2.75 inches below pad, havent tried any higher than that setting yet.

It does have the Vault hubs. Can I order the idler and install it myself if I have good mechanical skills, or is special tooling required?
