I would start by changing the leads on the charger. If that bank acts differently then it was either a connection or battery issue. If that bank acts the same then it would be a charger issue, then you could contact the charger company and get that addressed. If you maintain your batteries (ie – water) than I would say it is probably a charger issue but I would check.Good luck…I hate battery/charging issues, but I normally find my trouble when I am on the water atleast you are seeing it in the garage.Judd Lasiter
My compartment lights turn off in roughly 10-15 minutes with the lids left open. I don’t know if there is much current draw when they are off and the mercury switch is saying the lid is open but that might be your culprit.
I would definitely try and eliminate that as an issue, keep’em closed or as someone said just prop them open a little and see if you still have the drained battery.
Good luck, this stuff can be a pain to track down…

It is normally Sept-Oct but don’t ask what they are changing as BCB is VERY good at keeping that under wraps. By keeping things under wraps it actually helps their dealers sell boats they already have in stock and it also allows them more time to test and change things, pretty good idea actually.
But just like everything else…there is always a reason and these probably aren’t the only ones .

Tough choice wareagle.
I would say it depends on the water you fish. If you don’t need the added length, storage (although not a whole lot of difference) and speed (depending on what motor you put on the Puma) then the PIV is the boat. It also comes down to price as the PIV will be cheaper and the majority of that cost is the difference between the 200HP and the 225+HP motor prices.
The lakes here in TX are bigger than a lot of places and combined with how the wind blows anytime it isn’t smoking hot is one of the reasons I went with the Puma. I really like the layout with the bigger cooler and daybox that the Puma provides as a step up to the front deck. I also prefer the smaller gunnels that are on the Puma.
With all that said, yes I own a Puma but I wouldn’t hesitate to own a PIV.
Good luck with your choice, I cannot see you being unhappy with either one.

Patrick,
The cooler (as I mentioned is a little smaller but still very useful) is the step up on the PIV it is just back in between the consoles where the Puma has it out in front of the consoles. You loose the daybox the Puma has due to this also, while it is handy and I use it for my bouy’s, extra hooks, scents, extra pliers, nails and extra line I could easily put in in another bin.
The deck space is nearly identical but the PIV is just slightly wider and shorter (albeit not much in either direction) than the Puma.
No length issues with the PIV, my buddy places 7’6″ rods in his with absolutely no problems. That is one advantage to the two boats you have narrowed down too, the rod boxes are longer and provide a ton of room to put rods in the lockers without bending the fire out of your rod tips.

I have the Deans but I wish I would’ve bought the Aurora. Have Aurora make the cover without covering the motor, they can do that too.
I am working with a fella right now to start making some custom covers and I think if it all pans out he will take good points from all of them and make a really nice cover. Unfortunately, at this point I think he is just going to sell locally.
I have owned an Aurora cover and it can be a pain because it is so heavy and it isn’t like I dislike the Deans the Aurora just protects the finish better.
You can polish the skuffs out but it is a pain.

After getting the trailer a little to deep on my 99 Classic and getting the boat between the inner and outer roller and chipping out the gel coat I had to come up with a solution for my stupidity ![]()
I took the outside black rollers off and cut them and recessed them enough the trailer frame fits in them, obviously they won’t turn now but I don’t have to worry about getting inbetween the rollers.
I also found the yellow roller residue was harder to get off the boat and went back with the black one.

Rob,
Locally is DFW area. To be a full custom cover he really wants to take his own measurements. I am working with him on this part but we will see how that goes. He is suppose to be bringing me some samples of fabric today or tomorrow.
Email me at [email protected] and I will keep you posted. First thing is getting all the plans done and then letting him get one that we can take some pictures of.
A lot of good info above. I also only cover the boat when raining or overnite trips.
Judd
No problem guys. It took me longer than it should’ve because I am so anal about the boat stuff. Didn’t want gaps and crooked rollers LOL!
As you can see in the pictures, that little mold mark on the outside of the roller is about the correct depth to cut.
Turbo…I seem to remember Hamby’s or Keelshield once made a bumper that would go all the way over the bow eye.
Thanks.
Judd
Nice review…thanks AC.

Most of them will rub a little. Then we (I am guilty here too) will crank hard on the winch and twist the whole thing.
You can loosen the bolts up and twist it some but there isn’t much adjustment there. Maybe BCB will have a better answer but I figured most of the trouble I had on past boats were self induced (over cranking). This one just barely touches the side and hasn’t shown much wear…I have been careful about over tightening too.

Congrats to Chris and crew down @ Central Texas Marine.
I knew Tommy had a good year, nice to see him in the Top 5. Now we got something better to shoot for in 2007.

Most seem to prefer the 25 Trophy and others the 25 Tempest.Give one or both of those a try before you buy if you can.Judd Lasiter
Congrats Mike….you are going to LOVE your new BCB.
