bearf15 I did the same thing and had no problems registering the boat in Texas. We had a Louisiana dealership do the sale paperwork (needed for tax purposes) and the rest was pretty simple. Fill out the paperwork as much as possible in advance and make sure you bring in a pencil/paper etching of the boat and motor serial numbers so TPWD can verify the numbers. The trailer I had to register with DOT. The Wichita Falls TPWD were easy to work with and were happy to answer any questions I had. I was in and out of the office in 10 minutes. Good luck

Bear We actually did the boat and motor only. We had separate “bills of sale” for each. The dealership (now not handeling BassCat) charged me $100 or so to do the paperwork. As I found out later, the bill of sale doesnt have to be anything fancy. All it has to say is “Bill of Sale” and what the item is with all the particulars (purchase price, serial #, make, model, length, color), Be prepared to pay tax on each (deductable on next years taxes). If you pay taxes in the state you purchase the boat, Im pretty sure you just have to pay the difference if Texas tax is higher. If I remember right, the trailer was considered part of the boat for the sale. I went to the local county tax office and registered the trailer and had to give them the weight and towing capacity. If you want to put the trailer as part of the sale, just list it on the “bill of sale” and put a price that you feel is adequate. Im not 100% but the state and county dont really care how much you paid for the trailer, they just want size and capacity to determine the “road tax/registratin fee” so they can give you a license plate. It would be worth a call to your local tax office in advance to see exactly what they need from you. It might save a trip and some undue heartache. Beast

Its good to be back in a BassCat! I am in the process of buying the Puma that was for sale in Ardmore OK. Hopefully going to pick it up tomorrow. Had to sell my PIII back in 2008 cause my dang boys wanted to go to college.

thanks Jbassertn, I didnt think they were. The previous owner must have bought it and never used it. Guess Ill measure it up and see if I can cut off the threaded end since it seemed to be too long.
