I run two different props. In the heat of the summer I run a 4 blade Trophy 25p. For the rest of the year I run a Fury 25p. The Trophy wont let me go as fast (66 mph fully loaded) but it performs well and rides smooth. The fury is definately where its at when it comes to top speed. I have hit 77.4 with it.2007 Pantera II w/2007 Optimax 200L (not Pro XS) with 8″ slidemaster. I have it set where my inner plate is about 1/8″ below the top of the outer frame. When i got the boat it was over an inch above, but i was hitting my rev limit way too easily so i lowered it 1/4″ at a time. I still can hit my rev limiter fairly easy on cool days, but i am afraid to lower it anymore since summer is approaching. I saw that you have a Pro XS. I believe they offer two options for the lower unit on that motor. One of them is the upgrade with a different gear ratio since the Pro XS max rpm is 6100 (I think…). Anyone feel free to correct me if I say something inaccurate. I wonder if the different gear ratio might have some affect on your boats performance. Does anyone have an answer to the different gear ratios between the lower units and how it would affect a boats overall performance? Lets help bucknbass break 70mph!
