I have a friend that is going to help me with the install that is an engineer for another boat company. He has done this many times but I wanted to make sure of the specifics regarding a Basscat. I was hoping that Basscat would chime in here at some point. Why do they not recommend a hotfoot? I have never had one but will feel more comfortable being able to have both hands on the wheel and able to control the trim with my finger. I dont like having to let go of the wheel with one hand to control the trim or throttle at 70 plus mph. Any help here is appreciated.

basscat sent me a generation II throttle cable and from what i have read, the gen II cable isnt compatible with the hotfoot and the gen I is needed. is this correct?

i believe i have the right cable b/c i have the newer hotfoot. i just need to see a pic of how it hooks up. hopefully pete will get me a pic soon.

i got it figured out last night. i feel dumb now. i just wasnt sure how the genII cable hooked up because i was used to seeing the gen I on the old style hookup. thanks to all that replied to help me. i also had to send an email to pete this morning apoligizing for bugging him so much about this.

so is it rugged enough to trailer with alot? i am looking for a customer fit cover to trailer with only…not to cover for extended periods of time. i just dont want to fork out the high price for a deans or aurora just to be used as a trailering only cover.
