I just have no idea whats involved in the process. Ive only owned the boat for a year now, and it onlly had 12 hours on the motor when I bought it, and its been so perfect that I have not had to take it anywhere for work as of yet! If you can suggest somebody in the area, I live in Huntington Beach, Ca., that would be great. I just dont know if familiarity with the basscat boat would make the job go better for the tech, or if it would not matter. like I said I would be going in blind, so to speak, as far as which Mercury dealer to go to. Im actually fairly handy with most things, but I have never dug into a boat, so its a little intimidating

Elwood…just curious if you have ever had a Tempest+ 24 on that rig? thats what I have on mine, a 2006 Sabre with an Opti 150, and Im wondering if I could do better with the fury. Thanks Bob

Thanks for the replies. To BCB. The boat was actually 37,000 new, but I got it for 22,000 with 12 hours on it, in 2008. Ive no complaints about the original equipment, or the boat, as both have been bullet proof since I bought the boat. Its just with all of the advancements in electronics, I think its time for an upgrade, and I want to be sure Im picking the best upgrade when I purchase. However, even with these responses I still dont know which way to go!

I realize that the impeller does not have anything to do with gauge but can someone tell me where and what to look for in trying to find the water pressure connection that is disconnected? Could I have accidently disconnected the cable or tube or whatever carries the information to the gauge, while working to replace the impeller?

So if the motor appears to be cooling properly, because Ive run it for at least an hour at various speeds including idling, and rpms up to 5,000, then its not the water tube, correct? Then is it simply disconnected somewhere? either at the motor(wheres the connection), or under the dash?Or is it a tube that could be clogged?

I dont really know what mines worth, but perhaps we can figure it out. Im in Orange County Ca. I have a 2006 Sabre with a 150 Optimax. Dual consoles, Minnekota 101, 4 baterries, with the cranking baterry being brand new as I just bought it. Tandem axle trailer, break away tongue.Tempest 23P prop. Original trailer tires, excellent tread life remaining. Jackplate, hot foot. Always garaged. Boat cover. low hours. just put an impeller kit a few months ago. I hate like hell to let it go, but my body just wont let me fish much anymore without it really making me pay for it in pain. You wont find a nicer one. Candy apple red with white bolts, gray carpet, light gray seats. trim at the column and up front. Let me know. Bob
