Thanks Scott and Wil. I think mine is a Version 2 based on that picture. Im not sure what the difference is performance wise but I do know that this boat is really, really good in rougher water. Ive had her all torn apart the past couple of weeks putting on a new TM, cleaning out the rigging compartment and fixing some wiring issues from past owners. Anyway last few things this winter are adding hydraulic steering, fixing some gel gouges on the hull and buffing out the top cap. Being completely honest when Im all done with this Ill have about $8500 into it and other than gas mileage Im pretty sure this boat will perform and fish better than any new 18 footer out there. Its really one hell of a boat.

Ive got a 96 that I bought last year and love it. Needed quite a bit of TLC but the motor (ProV) was and has been strong. Mine didnt have a windshield either but got one from BC. You can replace the BP101 dash with an analog deal that they will make up for you for $400 I think, I may be doing that next year along with new carpet. My livewells are huge and so are my saddle tanks (2 X 26 gals), the rigging compartment is super easy to work in with the tanks on either side, I pulled everything out and cleaned and rewired the whole thing and access was really good. From a speed standpoint youll be somewhere in the 60s, I think 70 is for the guys with 175s. I can tell you that I probably lose 6-8 mph with full livewells and tanks but Im glad the tanks are big because the Yamaha is thirsty. Boat runs really well in rougher water and fishes great. I dont have a deck extension and have actually found the open area in front of the console to be great for your partners tackle bag, no more jumping over it. One thing to keep in mind that I found out the sort of hard way is that you might need a 52″ TM shaft. The bow seems to sit just a bit higher than other boats Ive had and the 42″ Maxxum I put on just wasnt cutting it. Replaced with a 52″ Fortrex. Id say for $8900 with that newer motor and hydraulic steering its a fair price, I paid $7K for mine with a 96 motor and cables that needed replacement. I added hydraulic to mine and that was just over a grand.

Its not that you can just replace the switch/knob. That knob is attached to a cable that goes back to the flapper valve for your livewell drain, its not electronic, its a mechanical system. If its not working then either the cable is broken or has become disconnected from the valve or the valve itself is bad. The flapper valve is down in the bottom of the rigging compartment probably just forward of your bilge pump and piped inline with your livewell drain and a thru hull fitting below your transom. My advice to you is that if its stuck in the OPEN position to just leave it be and use a removable plug in the livewell, thats what I do. Its kind of a pain in the ass to get to in order to change.

I was just saying that its one of those things that you can live with pretty easily not working right now if its stuck in the open position. I wish I would have known that the thing didnt work when I had pulled everything out of my rigging compartment last winter, would have been a pretty easy fix at the time. Itll probably get changed at some point but Im in no hurry. We must be in different tax brackets Alan

Theyre not going anywhere, once theyre in…theyre in. Theyve changed fishing on the Great Lakes and many lakes in Wisconsin, many say for the better for smallies, Sturgeon bay has been on fire the past few years. For other types of recreation though the mussels are a nightmare, kids cutting feet where they used to be able to swim barefoot, rafts and swim platforms/dock ladders covered on the bottom. Gobies will eat almost anything but not zebra mussels…hope no one gets a bright idea of introducing them illegally in the hopes that they will eat the zebra mussels. You can still use lighter line, just the right kind…flouro or pline CXX is a must in anything under 10lb and check for frays and nicks on every cast.

Yeah, its always a little different with boats you know. Theres no misrepresentation gonna happen and the boats solid I dont think anyone could find anything different than what I have listed above no matter how hard they looked. I love fishing out of this boat, its actually a little tough to get rid of especially since its set up exactly how I want. Anyway, thanks for the input.

VonH, not sure what you put into NADA but youre right on the hull being worth half of that. We settled on $8500 and both of us are happy. Thanks for all of the input guys, looking forward to BC #3
