On a Fury with any engine or a Pro XB you cant fix lugging if the holes are open in the hub. They come open and if you plugged them, pull the plugs. Otherwise go back to the original set up.

gerald, the issue is not the jack plate offset as that gain is minimal. You have a 20 model year aged boat and we assume your a newer owner. Things get mixed over those 20 years between different owners doing their own little things to alter, enhance or improve performance. Often those little tweaks hurt performance more than help and the subsequent owners deal with those tweaks and mistakes. Lets take it from the top. What propeller do you have and are their PVS plugs in the hub?

I have a 25 tempest and there is 2 plugs in the prop

Try removing the PVS plugs one at a time to see what your results are.

I have a 98 PII with a 200 mariner. Im running a 24p trophy plus with all the plugs out……hole shot is great.

Yep, Ive got a 95 PII and finally got rid of an old Spinelli Bros prop. (Per pretty much everyones advice….Yeah).I got a “new to me” Trophy 25 and am also looking to improve a sluggish holeshot.Same story as well,….once it gets on plane, it runs just fine. BCB, Keep bringin the suggestions.Im also all ears.Thanks

Ive got s spinelli bros prop I need to get rid of newbcowner, did you find it to be much of a used market for them? Where did you sell yours at? Ive tried selling mine on here and on BBC but have had very few bites.Sorry about the hijack.

What pitch Fury are you running, and is it on a PIV? Ive run a 24 Fury on both a 200HO and a 200SHO on my PIV, Im sure it will run as well on a merc.

I run a 25 fury and add about 40 lbs up front on my puma ftd in the summer time. Then again my fishing partner is like 300 lbs so I gotta do something.
