You can remove the upper stem and rotate it, cut it first, though leave some expose in the deck. You may get some wobble in the post if the aluminum is not tight in the glass deck. Be sure you keep the bushing above the actual deck. The wobble will come if you let it down too much and the pressure wears into the support under the deck. You will also have to redrill the stem for rebolting.

You can keep a roll up mat, like a thin camping mat, on board for such needs. In my Classic, it fits nicely in the gap next to the passenger set that goes back to the bilge area.

The Puma FTD is more expensive by several hundred dollars.
