There is no owners manual with Bass Cat Boats. This board serves as your interactive owners manual.AndyGreene Boat & MotorAndy Greene Greene Boat & Motor 828-286-2290 http://www.greeneboats.com
If the boat was bought new it would/should come with all the equipment manuals (engine, trolling motor, steering, hubs, trailer tongue etc…) and dealer should give you a walk through before leaving the parking lot, also if you have the bag full of manuals, make sure you go through it and see if there are any warranty cards for the products that may still need to be filled out and mailed in, most dealers get the big ones such as the motor, but there may be a few others that need to be registered. The boat itself does not have a operators manual, thats what this board is for. If the boat was bought used, then the baggie full of manuals may or may not come with if the previous owners dont provide it.

I got all kinds of manuals with my 04 sabre, from the previous owner…. he still had everything, including the Build Sheet they used in the factory……. Pretty cool to see the notes written on there.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
I believe your 98 transom is encapsulated marine plywood sandwiched together – I think 4″ of it. With proper maintenance it will last you a lifetime. I had a 98 PII and really enjoyed it. It was the ideal fishing platform.
They did not keep records on the construction techniques and they dont have a way to use the serial numbers. At that time there was aphas in and they did not want attention to the details as no me knew what they were buying in construction methods and the to phase in was the Pantera III model. It was also one of the most popular models and the construction method was hidden till everything was able to convert over. Someone at the factory can assist you and they would be glad to offer advice on chips and gel work.
so it could be any of the three common methods composite fiberglass or encapsulated wood is that what you mean by phase in?
Fiberglass transoms werent available in the 98 model years. I think it is a safe bet that it is layers of 1/2″ plywood laminated w/ fiberglass between and over the sheets. Here is a good post that speaks to the transition to all fiberglass construction – http://basscatowners.yuku.com/reply/918 … eply-91820Page 2 of this one too – http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/302 … ats?page=2Last edited by rlb8s on August 19th, 2015, 2:31 am, edited 3 times in total.
Copy that and appreciate the info, like I said its solid and well cared for, just want to make sure it stays that way. I get lots of compliments on the boat most think its new. I will get over Mtn Home way and let someone take a look its a first boat and if there has been something added that is not sealed properly I just need to know and will get it right. thanks a bunch.
My Eyra has one, pointed to the rear for drawing air out, and the scoops on the side of the top cap are where the air enters the bilge. Does the Caracal have something similar on the top cap?
No, nothing on the Caracal like the scoops on the Eyra.
The Caracal was designed and built after the new regulations on fuel tanks. Thus we removed one vent as they are no longer required with no fuel permeation potentially in the bilge above that amount regulated by the USCG.
