I was there this past weekend. Water temp 47-50. Same patterns working as usual. Grass and then some out deeper in 30 plus.

Before the last rains came through I was catching 2 pounders in 2-5 feet of water around dead lily pad stems. I had one slightly over 4 pounds. The water was stained to where I could see a black/blue chatterbait about a foot down. Im just more comfortable in shallow water unless Im using a deep diving crankbait. I worked all weekend, but I had a buddy fishing north of the bridge….San Miguel and San Patricio areas. It is muddy but he had some luck with some fish up to 5 1/2 pound on a chatterbait and a lizard in less than 2 feet of water. I read reports over on bassboatcentral saying that there are buck bass fanning beds all over down south. Im hoping to go out tomorrow before rains hit again on Wednesday. The lake hasnt been this high in years. I just saw an article saying that this is the first time since 2012 that the spillway gates have been opened and its still rising. Was there a couple weeks ago. Tough bite for us. Water temps were mid 60s. Some bass were on a few beds. The biters had been picked clean by a 900 boat Texas Oilmans tournament. Kind of a zoo as I could see no less than 20 other boats wherever I went. Anyway, we caught some good bass on a Carolina rig out offshore on woody flats in 10-12 feet of water. Thats what a bunch of boats were doing. Like Phil said, grass was pretty thin.
